problem #2

Ranger XLT 2.5L 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 125,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Engine revs up to high at startup for too long then drops to regular. Engine also stays at high rev after disengaging gears, pushing in clutch, at a stop sign.

Ranger LX

  • Manual transmission
  • 96,000 miles

Old reliable truck, just changed oil, it revs high when in neutral and coasting and when parking.when put into gear it kinda jumps ahead like i pressed on the gas pedal too quick and heavy. been doing this for about 2-3 wks, just thought that it was because its old and was just going to deal with it. check engine light came on the other day while on the hwy.

checking small things gradually.it could be the air filter, it could be the transmission, i didn't know what to classify it as. i'm not taking it in cause the truck is worth little. so i am tinkering around in it with my mechanic friends to find out.

will post solution as soon as i find it...
