While checking tires noticed cracks. Tires on this make/model were not under recall #P245/75R16. The tires were Firestone radial ATX.

I felt a small bump that I later found out was a soup bone that I ran over right after leaving my townhouse. I proceeded to route 97 going to work. I was traveling at 65 mph when I heard a noise like a helicopter overhead and then the truck began to weave. I pulled over quickly and discovered my left rear tire totally off the rim and cut completely round the middle. After seeing the tire (which I still have) everyone has said I am lucky to be alive and I agree. I immediately went to my Ford dealership and had the tire replaced and since the tires were due for rotation I had that done. I had no idea that this tire was causing problems for others as well. Firestone wilderness ht tire P22570R15 on a 2000 Ranger. One tire failed, another tire is beginning to split down the center of the tread. Dot #W2uu.
