Taurus 3.2L V6

I have a 1995 Ford Sho. I have put a new starter in and a new fuel pump. Three days after I put the new fuel pump in the car, it quits running when the car warms up and has to sit to cool before it will start again. It stalls when I stop at the stops signs. It has good crank and I can hear the fuel pump kick in. Does anyone know the solution. The check engine light comes on and off. I had it scoped and it showed everything is fine.

1995 Taurus with 3.0L V6 engine stalls every few weeks or so. Other times it runs great. Seems to happen when engine at full operating temp. When the stall occurs the engine can be re-started, without problem, within a few minutes and then run great for a week or two or more. Problem just started a few thousand miles ago otherwise it has been a great car!

I see others with similar problem. Has enyone found a fix?

The car is in the shop again today but I fear it will come back again as "no faults found".

This is a tricky one. I have done some other research and read about a problem of cracked fuel pump electrical connector on the top of the fuel tank. My shop always stocks a connector repair kit for this Ford problem but so far they have not found the problem with my car.

Help??

Taurus GE

  • 100,000 miles

I will drive my car for about 20 to 30 minutes and after that, when I slow down or stop my car it dies. I have to let it cool down for 1 hour before I can go again. I've already changed the fuel filter and control module. I still can't figure out what it is.
