The contact owns a 2010 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the seat belt restraint warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 14V266000 (seat belts). The vehicle was serviced at wilcoxson Cadillac Buick of pueblo (902 N Santa Fe ave, pueblo, co 81003, (719) 544-4423); however, the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the seat beat restraint warning indicator illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000. The VIN was invalid.
The passenger seat seatbelt and airbag lights come on when no one is in the seat, or when something very light, such as a coke can is in the seat. This can happen at any point during a trip, and I have to buckle the seatbelt to stop the warning bell. It makes me nervous that the seat is so sensitive, and I fear the airbag may be sensitive as well. I make my daughter sit in the back, because I'm concerned for her safety. The vehicle can be stationary or in motion when this happens. It used to happen randomly, but it's been happening even if nothing is in the seat the last four days. There has been no recall on my vehicle.
Power steering gets hard to steer while turning, pulling in to parking spaces, going around curves. Being told I have to replace the rack and pinion and then GM will replace the pump. Middle row middle seatbelt is locked won't pull out. Had to replace all front suspension. This vehicle is poorly made.
I have had 3 recalls on my 4 year old Acadia in the last several months and also had to replace my power steering at less than 65,000 miles. My car is back at the dealer for the third time in less than 10 days for the service air bag light after they have attempted to fix the recall. Although no specific safety incident, my concerns with the ability of the dealer/automaker to provide a safe vehicle and well as the overall lack of reliability of the car in less than 4 years is both disappointing and concerning. I am currently in touch with GMC about my options.

I am filing a complaint for GMC 2010 Acadia second row seating seat belt issue. Recall #N100243. Although my cars VIN number [xxx]. does not fall into the recall list. My cars second row seat belt is doing the same exact thing as the recall describes. But they will not fix it so in the mean time I cannot carry any child in the back seat because of safety belt concerns. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
