Reported AC weak several times, in the first few years, my car was in the shop 189 days in the first 18 months or so. HATCHETT GMC could not duplicate, tested the vents temp at drivers it was fine compared to another on the lot? Took 30 minutes to begin cooling.

Now at 53000 miles, the AC died in February 2023 HATCHETT GMC diagnosed that the rear evaporator was leaking. Costs $2800 to fix? now that it is barely out of warranty. While in warranty they could not fix it so I just did an annual refill with freon (145 per can).

It is now obvious it had a leak and you end up breathing in a corrosive and toxic gas.

When driving and you have the A/C on blowing cold air, and all of a sudden, it will go to hot, on high heat. When you shut power off to a/c the heat still blowing. I took it in to dealer and still does not have a fix for it. This has happened several times over the year.

Acadia Denali 3.6L

My wife drove the car back from Upstate New York after visiting family. It was 40 degrees out and the car had been sitting out all night so my wife had the heater running when they pulled out. The car heated up nicely so as she drove she turned the fan down and even the temperature setting, but 30 minutes into the drive the car was getting sweaty hot so she hit the AC setting. She couldn’t get the car to stop blowing hot air. She had the AC on and the temperature setting at the lowest temperature setting and still hot air. My wife has had a license for 30+ years and my daughter for 12 years, so they know how to operate a vehicle, but since it was new, my daughter was reading through the manual as they drove to see what it was doing. They couldn’t get the AC/Heater to blow anything but hot air so my wife said it was 90+ degrees in the car so she turned off the heater all together. The problem was the outside temperature was cold and after a while the windows would fog up and the car would start to get chilly, especial after you had been sitting in the heat for so long. For the next three hours until they stopped at the halfway point home, my wife had to keep turning the heater on and off every time the windows fogged up.
