- Summary
- Forward Collision Alert Inoperative, Unwanted Application of Emergency Brakes and/or Adaptive Cruise Control Drops Out Condition Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions: • Forward Collision Alert (red light and alarm) is late or does not come occur. • Vehicle applies emergency brakes with no vehicle in front in areas with overhead structures. • Adaptive Cruise control drops out in barren landscape areas. Adaptive Cruise Control Temporarily Unavailable message appears in the IP. Cause This condition may be due to one of the following: • Software occasionally takes longer than normal to identify a potential collision situation. • Radar reflections look like an actual vehicle causing a brief activation of brakes. • Radar does not see enough reflections so it assumes it is blocked and goes offline. Correction An updated software calibration has been released to address these conditions. A learn procedure (“service alignment” or “service calibration”) is not required.
