This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Dashboard is completely broken and it moves everywhere. It-??s not even attached to the screws cause it-??s broken. I-??ve put 10,000 miles on the in the last 5 years and the dash is basically falling apart on its own
The door actuators on both back seat doors of my crew cab have failed and passengers cannot exit the vehicle nor can the doors be opened from the outside. This failure is intermittent and and unsafe for passengers to exit the vehicle in an emergency. The truck is at the GM dealer being repaired for $670 plus tax and shop charges.

Dash is cracked in the "common place" for these vehicles. Corner above the instrument panel and at the passenger side airbag, the transmission is also a issue, the 3/4 gear packet has went out and the housing inside the transmission is cracked, so it would've broke soon also.
There has been no incident and no failure. I bought this truck new. It has been under recall since the recall first came out. I would like to have my eleven year old truck fixed. Needless to say, I am getting tired of waiting.
Regarding recall for GM 14515B. Or NHTSA 14V614 I have a 2008 GMC Sierra slt with a 5.3 litre engine. My vehicle fails to start and the check engine light is on when brought to the dealer they changed the fuel pump flow control module part 20759945 the same part number that is mentioned in the current recall. I also have same condition mentioned in current recall. But when asked about the recall gym Canada customer service and dealer just says there is no recall on my VIN but can't explain what vehicles are affected by recall and why. My vehicle falls within the years affected by the recall. I am sending this because I think more vehicles are affected by this recall than originally mentioned. If you could look into this please. I just find it weird how the vehicle experiences the same condition and the same part is affected but for some vehicles it's not a recall. Will somebody have to die for this to become a concern. Thanks
GM knows there is an issue with the cracked dashboards on 07-13 GM trucks/SUVS, but refuses to voluntary recall. If the vehicle is involved in a crash, there is likelihood the airbag could either not deploy or if it does, it could catch the crack in the dash and either not deploy properly, or send shrapnel into the driver or passenger.
Dashboard cracked in two places. The passenger side cracked on the portion covering the passenger air bag. I am worried that if inflated, the plastic shards will impale any passenger. Also the dashboard cracked on the driver side above the instrument cluster. It is beginning to cave it.
Takata recall: GMC has known about this issue way to long and still to this date cannot give me a date or time frame when they can fix my issue. This should have already been corrected. The second issue is the epidemic dash cracking that is obviously an engineering issue and GMC should be held accountable to correct this defect in their dashes. My dash cracks are almost identical to thousands of other GMC owners and when there is an obvious flaw, they should correct it. Down at the bottom where is say when did this happen? I know if happened it 2010, but not a specific day or month.
Takata - GM recall 49152 - I received a recall notice dated July 2016 and they still do not have the parts to replace the front airbag inflators. I have called three times to check the status and they still do not have them.
Cracked dash - the dash of my GMC truck has cracked in two places within the last year; one crack by the passenger side airbag and the other above the instrument cluster. This vehicle has always been garage - kept and very well maintained. This is a very common problem as evidenced by online blogs.
