I have owned GM products all my life and know when you hear a whining noise coming from the fuel tank get ready to replace fuel pump. Both trucks would die randomly die while driving down the road and at stop. The last one I got tired of paying over $300.00 for a pump, went to a wrecking yard and payed $100.00 for the last one and got a warranty works grate, also check ground you could be burning up the pump due to high resistance.
