The contact owns a 2001 GMC Sierra C3. When the vehicle approaches a stop, the ABS grab and make it harder to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that this failure occurred one year earlier while driving at any speed. The emergency brake also failed, which caused the vehicle to fail inspection. A local mechanic informed him that the wheel sensors possibly needed to be cleaned or replaced. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 05V379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). The repairs would cost approximately $1,500. The failure mileage was 35,000 and current mileage was 47,000. Updated 06/25/08. Updated 06/25/08
