Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

spurious warning lights

My 2014 CRV has experienced several TPMS false alarms. I confirm the tire pressure correct each time. Another issue occurred yesterday. I started my CRV after sitting idle for 4 hours (sitting in the parking lot of my work location) and four warning lights illuminated and stayed on after the vehicle completed its start-up self test: 1. TPMS 2. Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine) 3. Electric Power Steering Indicator 4. Vehicle Stability Assist System Indicator

These remained on and I drove the vehicle to the Honda dealer for maintenance, showing the photo of the four lights on to the evening rep and was told they would check it out. I left my vehicle overnight (it was scheduled for an oil change and tire rotation/balance the next morning). This morning the service rep called me to say the oil change and tire rotation was done and I asked about the four warning lights. The rep said that they did not see the lights this morning so no action was taken. I told them that the vehicle had a 'Check engine' light and that a diagnostic needed to be done to retrieve the code. After initially reluctance, the service rep said they would do this.

After 3 hours, I received a call from the service rep who said that the code indicated a 'Control Unit Low Voltage', and a PCM Malfunction due to low voltage. The battery was tested and was confirmed to be at the correct voltage. All codes were reset and the issue was recorded in my vehicle history. I left the dealership and after only 4 miles, the TPMS light came on again. The TPMS is substandard, based on the many complaints. Honda needs to fix this problem ASAP. I'm also concerned about spurious low voltage conditions.
