CarComplaints.com Notes: It's rare when a newer vehicle has defect trends. Judging from the identical 2017 model year, the 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to have at least two — overfilled oil levels with a gas smell, & heat not working.
Both problems affecting the Honda CR-V's 1.5L "Earth Dreams" engine appear to be related to cold-climate regions.
CR-V owners also report no heat even after warming up their CR-Vs for 30 minutes — not even enough to defrost the windshield. So far, there has been no fix from Honda for this issue.

Vehicle is flashing all kinds of repair needed signals. It is stalling and shutting off. It's not safe for me to drive. I'm elderly (disabled) and need to drive to get medicine and doctors appointments. The fuel pump is on recall and I can not wait until the fall to get the pump replaced. No Honda dealers have the pumps in stick yet. I need help ASAP. Thank you
The vehicle began running rough Spring 2023 and all the lights on the dashboard lit up. The local mechanic did not identify any serious problem and the lights all going off seemed to be a separate issue since the whole dashboard was lit up. We continued driving it out of necessity and eventually it began stalling. Then we took it back to our mechanic who identified the fuel injectors as the issue and recommended that we take it to the dealership. We took it to the dealership and they charged $3000 for the fuel injector replacement and also did some minor recall repairs. When my husband drove it off the lot, it stalled again so he brought it back and identified that it still was not repaired. They then kept it for 2-3 more weeks and repaired the head gasket. We took it home and drove it for another 6 mths and then it stalled again when my husband was driving at 65mph on a bridge. He safely pulled over but the vehicle had trouble restarting as it had in Spring of 2023 from time to time when it was riding rough. This time there were no warning lights related to the issue. The dash now has some warning lights. We have not driven it since and the part for the fuel pump from Honda is not available until Fall 2024 so we are without a vehicle even though we paid for a new vehicle that we hoped would last us beyond 6 years.
Fuel pump module incorrect moulding. To date, no incident to report, however I phoned Mohawk Honda this afternoon who said that the owners who have been notified have relayed to Mohawk Honda that HONDA informed owners that parts will not be made available until this fall. I would like to ask if I can have the work done now and receive reimbursement. I would prefer to get this recall resolved as soon as possible. Thank you. I am currently shopping for a Honda CRV when I learned that the vehicle has an active recall that has yet to be addressed. When looking into it further and contacting the local Honda dealership, they notified me that they would be unable to handle my request for service (should I decide to purchase the vehicle) until sometime in the fall. It is currently March. Half a year is a long time to wait for repair to a vital system of the car I read so many positive things about. I called other Honda dealers in my area and received the same response for the issue. Am I crazy for thinking that half a year is a long time to wait for a fix to a problem that could immobilize my potential car every time I turn the ignition or even while I-??m driving?

It is terrifying and unacceptable that they announce a fuel pump recall and then tell drivers to wait basically a year to they maybe get the part. Ticking time bomb. This is an addendum to some folks who already had a near catastrophe or worse because this company was negligent. Is anyone filing any lawsuits yet? My vin: [XXX] Can someone get back to me with a safety proposition because Honda has failed. Thank you. Please reference NHTSA recall # 23V-858. In the Remedy section of the NHTSA recall description it states, 'The dealer will replace the fuel pump module with an improved part.' The actual recall notice states 'The replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle are not currently available but are expected to be available in the fall of 2024'! Honda lists this as an IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL and failure of the pump may result in a crash or injury. I'll have to drive my CR-V for the next, at least, 6 months facing this possibility. This is unacceptable and I'm hoping you can help resolve this. Regards, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My car does lag when I'm driving on the highway. I need a letter emailed or sent by mail showing that the part is being ordered for my car so I can forward with my loan. The company will not go forward with my loan. I need the part fixed ASAP or a letter showing that the part is getting delivered.
The car smelled of gas. The mechanic said the computer indicated that the fuel mixture was too rich. Upon inspection he found my oil even smelled of gas. He felt the car was unsafe to drive and at high risk of fire. The fuel injectors do not function properly. IDK how many complaints you have received but once I experienced it I found many reports of similar nature online so before something really bad happens hope it can be reviewed.
Nothing happened - fortunately. I want to know why there's no remedy for this recall" Is Honda just waiting on a problem? I want my Mom to be safe and have no issues. Can you/Honda please work toward a speedy solution and keep us updated" This is my Mom's vehicle and she lives in Indiana. I'm her son and I live in South Carolina.
On my way home, the car began to tremble and make a very strange noise. I couldn't stop because I was on the highway, the next day all the lights car on the dashboard were on, I dropped my car on the dealer and still is there, .
Sudden unexpected acceleration. Multiple occurences during same outing, almost caused me to have an accident. had to HARD break while engine continued to surge. Had vehicle towed to Honda Dealer. They said No Code set and couldn't duplicate condition. They kept vehicle 2 weeks and drove multiple times but couldn't duplicate problem. Since no code set, nothing fixed. Do not believe any diagnosis on components were done. My opinion.
Multiple lights on dash and car would not go. My car could not be driven because of the risk of cutting off and someone hitting me. I took my car to the dealership and had the same problem as my other Honda back in 2022.
Manufacturer Recall NumberKGC NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858 I have been trying desperately to get my car serviced to address the safety recall, and many car dealerships are hanging up on me when I try to schedule appointments. My car has been stalling while driving as a result of this recall issue. Please help as I now fear for my safety driving my vehicle since Honda locations are not helping me resolve this issue.
I have not experienced a problem with my vehicle yet, but your website says, -??If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA-??. I am just writing to let you know that I called the dealer, and they told me they do not have a remedy for the problem yet. I am now concerned that I could have a problem but have no way to resolve the issue. I have to travel shortly after Christmas and will just have to pray that nothing happens.
ALL malfunction indicator lights would go on at the same time intermittently. This caused safety systems to stop working and was a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE for my family. Diagnostics at my local Honda dealer diagnosed code P0303 Cylinder Misfire/Leaking Injectors. This has been a common problem amongst various 2016-2019 Honda vehicles, and some of them have had extended warrranty coverage by Honda, however, not my 2018 CRV. The fuel injectors needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,621.18. This was a known problem at Honda, and my vehicle should have been covered with an extended warranty. Fuel injectors should not have to be replaced so early in the life cycle ( and relatively low mileage ) of a vehicle driven with care.
The fault code P0172: System too Rich (Bank 1) has resulted in loss of all Advanced Safety features, as well as the electric parking brake becoming inoperable.
