The paint is terrible - I have never seen paint oxidize as quickly as it has on my car. It's a 2012 model and it started oxidizing 6 months ago and my car almost has no black paint left on it and I can't afford to repaint it... I think Honda should put this as an on going recall.

Had a 2002 Honda Civic EX which the paint looked like new when I traded it in for a 2012. On the 2012, the top coat started peeling and the paint started fading about 3 or 4 years in. The dealership was very nice but would only repaint a section when it started happening...first the front hood, then trunk, then top etc. and Honda extended the paint warranty to 6 or 7 years because they knew something was wrong. They should have just repainted the whole car instead of each section. I only have 32,000 on this car at almost 10 years old and it is mostly garaged but now I have new areas doing the same thing and the car looks terrible. Also I want to note that some of the repainted areas had problems too and they had to repaint them again. I am so disappointed about the whole thing and don't think I will buy a Honda again.

Clear coat starting coming off of the roof. Kept getting worse so I had it painted. Now the clear coat is coming off of the trunk and the top of the right rear panel. Had I known there was a paint problem with these cars I wouldn’t have purchased it. Shouldn’t have been a paint problem with a 6 year old car. I feel that Honda should fix the problem.

HUGE cloudy paint "bald spots" on cars roof. Crackling in clear coat of paint everywhere else besides the doors. Took into Honda, said it would be covered by the warranty. Took it to the recommended body shop and they told me they would charge me 20%, which would be about $600. $600 for something that is NOT MY FAULT?!?!?!?!?! Shame on me for assuming I could keep my car for 6 years and it not end up looking like a total crap pile.

I bought my Honda Civic EX 2012 back in May 2011. In the past few months I have begun to notice a significant amount of a cloudy color on the roof and now it looks like it cracking, also on the hood and on the trunk I notice a cloudy spot. The last time when I took my car for battery problem I ask the guy who was helping if there was any paint defects on the Civic and he wasn't aware of any.

My decision to purchase a Honda was based on my assumption that Honda maintained higher quality than other makes of vehicles. Since the paint is coming off of a 5 yr old 2012 Honda Civic I will consider other options such as Hyundai on my next purchase.

Honda has denied talking to me on not just the paint issues but oil leak and transmission issues. Honda's Customer service has ignored me and failed to follow up. Dealerships have failed to fix prior problems with this vehicle. I am never buying another Honda again.
