The contact owns a 2012 Honda Crosstour. The contact stated that while parked, he noticed a fire had erupted from the dashboard area. The fire department was not called because the failure had occurred overnight while the vehicle was parked and seemingly, had extinguished independently. The contact did not notice the failure until it had already occurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised that there had been a failure with the wiring in the console. The exact cause of the fire was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 22,982. Updated 03/12/13 updated 03/27/2013
