THERE IS A KNOWN HONDA ISSUE WITH STARTING / STARTER IN THE 2013 TO 2015 HONDA CROSSTOUR AND ACCORDS.  HONDA ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN 16-002 IN 8-2017.  REPLACE STARTER AND ROTATE FLYWHEEL / TORQUE CONVERTER 1 BOLT.     ISSUE = I GO TO START THE CAR AND OCCASIONALY THE CAR DOES NOT START.  I HEAR A QUICK "WHIRR" SOUND.  AFTER A MULTIPLE ATTAMPTS THE CAR WILL START.   VERY DIFFICULT TO REPEAT THE ISSUE.

When trying to start car it sounds like the starter bendix is not quite engaging. There are times you can start perfect ten times. Like every time it goes to the shop. It may take 2-5 tries when it strikes to get a good start. As far as the bendix engagement noise it is not a strong sound, possible big relay weak? There is often a light on the dash that says starter system if it doesn't catch sometimes. We replaced the starter early on with no change. Something is not connecting correctly for what ever reason. Basically the only problem we have and it is an embarrassment in parking lots when it is revolting!

This has been going on for several months. Took vehicle in for repair, shop duplicated problem and said starter was bad. Replaced starter worked okay for about two weeks. Saturday it repeated the problem, took six tries before starter worked. Again the solenoid pulled in but starter wouldn't turn.
