We bought our Ridgeline in Feb of 07. For the first 5000 miles the MPG was 16-19mpg city (we do very little Hi-way). I Completed the first recommended oil change and within 2 full tanks of fuel the MPG dropped to 12mpg, and it got worse (down to 10mpg). We are now at 10000 miles and still getting around 11.5mpg. I had the car checked by our Honda dealer and the only explanation that they could give us was "imports don't like ethanol". We live in an area that during winter months fuel is mixed with 10% being ethanol. The only message that has ever shown up on the dash board is a "fuel cap not tightened". My problem is that at a drop of 5mpg on average means having 100 miles less per full tank, making it about $20 more expensive per fill up due to $4 per gallon gas. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.
