While waiting to cross a railroad crossing the two cars ahead of me started moving. The first car suddenly stopped causing the 2nd car to hit it. I slammed on my brakes but my car surged ahead into the car in front of me causing much damage of that car and considerable damage, (undrivable) to my car. Police were called and a report take, . I srepped on my brakes hard yet I surged forward very fast. About three months earlier I experienced the same problem comming out of a store parking lot onto a busy road. I applied my brake only to have the car keep going forward almost entering on coming traffic. I could only assume when I applied the brake my food hit the accelerator on the down push. I feel the same thing happened during the Aug. 4, 2011 accident. I wonder if there have been other incidents like this, I wear a size 11 eee shoe which is petty wide, the only reason I could see for hitting both the brake and accelerator.

Three major complaints. At 18,000 miles the top seal of the engine had to be replaced, repaired under warranty. At 21,000 mile the rear brake calipers had to be repaired for sticking and pads replaced at owners expense. Owner told by dealership the cause was "probably from salt used to treat road surfaces during snow removal". Hyundai refused warranty claim and would not admit improper materials used for braking system. At 27,000 miles, multiple visits to dealership for repair of inoperating turn signals. Parts replaced in attempt to repair include electrical box in steering column, all bulbs, flasher unit, grounding points for system. Problem recurring and dangerous.

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe - May 27, 2010 I was driving on the interstate at 65mph when the passenger rear wheel locked up causing the car to fishtale - as I moved over in to the slow lane, it fishtaled again. The dealer it was towed to said it was the yaw sensor which they replaced. I informed them at that time that the ecs off light had been coming on to which they replied it had nothing to do with the yaw sensor I called the week of July 4th to let the dealer know that the ecs off light came on again - they informed me that this has been a problem for many Santa Fe's and they needed me to come down (150+ miles one way) to hook it up to see what the code tells them. On July 19, 2010 driving 75mph on the interstate, both rear wheels locked up and there were no brakes. This car is a danger to my life!

I have also had this problem on my 2007 Santa Fe limited (the airbag indicator and the alarm sounding for no reason at the same time). They both started happening at the same time. I have the airbag indicator illuminated in the lower right hand corner of the dashboard control panel. I took it to the dealership on this past Monday (23 June 2008) and they were able to see the error code. But could not determine what the actual problem is. So they cleared the error code, changed the oil, and washed it. The dealership told me to come back if it happens again. The funny thing about this problem is that it comes and goes. As I was driving to the dealership, the indicator went off. But once I got to the dealership and they went to check it, it came back on and stayed on. Well, it happened again the very next day. I called the dealership and they have instructed me to bring it in because this should not be happening. They have offered to put me in a loaner car while they investigate what is going on with my truck. Oh I forgot to tell you what happened after they cleared the code. After they cleared the code on the 23rd, the alarm does not sound when you press the control button twice. They disarmed something on the other day. I'm thinking that they should do a whole system reset or something. I will keep you posted on what they find during my visit this evening or whenever my truck is returned to me. Here's the trick to the sounding alarm problem that I figured out. 1. arm the alarm. 2. wait for the 30 sec's for it to sound. 3. disarm the alarm. 4. arm the alarm. 5. all is well at this point with the alarm. I have found this to work for me. But it is a pain if you ask me. However, until there is a fix for it, this is a solution that works.
