Jeep wouldn't not start back up lights not work and would not go into overdrive or 4th gear. The transmission speed selector switch on the side of tranny tells computer what gear you have selected and if it is Park or Neutral and also contains backup kight switch. Simply remove the switch from transmission open up the switch housing and clean and lube the contacts, Jeep will start and backup lights will work. Make sure to clear failure code from engine computer or it won't shift into overdrive owhatever ist is 4th gear. Re align the rod that goes through trannt to switch it wouldn't hurt to have a second pair of hands. Saved about 450 bucks fixing myself!
