The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate upon starting and would inadvertently accelerate while driving. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to cochran Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (110 rte 908, natrona heights, pa 15065, 724-901-1014), but the failures could not be duplicated. The failures recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The computer was updated, but the failure recurred and "service the shifter" illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where the shifter module was greased, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer. The vehicle was not taken to another dealer and the failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 45-50 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle was switching gears very hard and the traction control and check engine indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (northwest Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 19616 northwest fwy, houston, tx 77065) where it was diagnosed that a software update was needed. The failure recurred a total of four times, and each time the dealer gave the same reply. The contact found NHTSA campaign number: 16V529000 (power train) and stated that the symptoms were identical, but the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall and they could not assist with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (metro Jeep located at 650C memorial dr chicopee, MA 01020 877-220-8331) where it was diagnosed that an update was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened case number: 32118538. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 25,240.
