Cherokee Trailhawk 3.2L V6

When driving at highway speeds, 60mph and over, when hitting bumps in the road the steering wheel shakes or shimmies back and forth rapidly....reminds me of those household door stops with springs when you flip the spring. It lasts a couple of seconds.

It is getting worse, and hear more road noise and even hitting a bump at city speeds causes the steering wheel to move left or right.

Dealer says it's WARPED BRAKE ROTORS !!!! and wants $610 to fix.

I say this is STUPID, why would warped rotors cause the steering to go whacko when hitting a bump and no braking.

This happened shortly after the transmission (yes, THAT one!!!) was replaced and I questioned whether they had to remove part of the steering, suspension, etc to get the transmission out and perhaps they didn't tighten up the parts after reinstalling as the problem is getting worse.

The service writer said he would ask but he never got an answer from the mechanics. When I picked up the vehicle and signed the bill (warranty) I wrote "I will sue if any accident happens because of failed steering, suspension, or other components that were previously removed and replaced to fix other issues".

Update from Jul 12, 2017: Wish we could print for our records.
