Friday 06/17/22 Parked care to go to excise class for 1 hour, when returned the car was running/had been started, I thought maybe the key control hit another set of keys in my pocket however, when I arrived home, and cut car off, and went in house the car started again and this happen several times that day.06/18/22 went to Walmart and parked car, when returned to car and unlocked the car door, the car automatically locked it self, I unlocked it and it locked itself again.then when got home locked the car and went inside the house, the car then started up and was running again. also, the Radio AM/FM stations not working, only the Sirius radio stations are.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal knocking noise was coming from the engine. The vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the vehicle stalled an unknown yellow warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V907000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified about the recall and informed him that his vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer informed the contact of a recall on the catalytic convertor for similar vehicles. The contact left a message for the dealer regarding the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired and no longer stalls.

The Jeep will stall/stop running at various points while in motion, when stopping, when starting. There is no rhyme or reason as when this might occur. I can have the ac running or not, the heater running or not. There is no mechanical process that shows me this will happen. It is completely random. I understand there was a replaced part as part of the Chrysler S89 recall in April of 2017, which is out of warranty according to Chrysler. The problem is still persisting and is a safety issue for me considering it stalls randomly and while in motion. I purchased this vehicle from carmax in June 2021 with no notice of the former recall and issue.

While driving 2016 Jeep Compass vehicle jerks suddenly and feels like it is going to stall. Nothing changes on dashboard. This happens during acceleration or even just driving down the road or highway. Took it to dealership back in 2020 and the catalytic converter was replaced. The jerking stopped until now. Took it back to same dealership and the mechanic could not duplicate the problem. No codes thrown. Even though I have many witnesses hat have been in the vehicle while it occurred. Picked jeep back up and it started jerking while driving again within a 1/2 mile of driving away from the dealership. Repair not done. Feels unsafe to drive. I-€™m afraid it is going to stall and cause an accident. Mileage in 2020 incident 65000. Mileage this incident 76000
When I-€™m at a stop and I go to push the gas the vehicle stalls out, or Whalen I slow down and then push the gas to merge onto interstates/highways it completely stalls out and has potentially killed me more than once.
This morning (08.20.21) I was driving to work when about 1 mile in I was going 45mph and my car started stalling, causing it to drop to 10mph. The engine light and traction control light are consistently on. The electronic throttle control light is constantly blinking when I have the ignition on. My car has been in limp mode all day and will not go over 10mph. I almost got hit by the car behind me when it happened and almost hit someone else trying to get out of their way. I-€™ve been looking into it all day and I found that there was a recall -€œS89-€ on Jeep Compass 2016 made anytime between May 9, 2016 and July 15, 2016 and which came equipped with 2.0-liter or 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engines. Mine was manufactured July 15, 2016 and is a 2.0-liter.
While driving during the work day on a busy street my Jeep Compass stalled out putting myself and others at risk of an accident. No lights or warning signs were visible on the dashboard making this a sudden and scary event. After being it to the dealership they assessed the issue as the crankshaft power sensor, after doing more research I see that this has been an issue as well as a previous recall on other 2016 Jeep Compass-€™ and feel that now mine should be added to the list as the safety of myself and others were put at risk as a result.

My 2016 Jeep Compass keeps stalling over the past six months (70,000M). It will not accelerate at times and just stalls sometime in the town and some times on the intersate. I have had it at the dealer twice and they replaced another known issue with the throttle body (had that replaced on my daughters 2017 Jeep Compass) but it still didn't help this Jeep. Replaced the throttle body twice and the dealers only suggestion was to sell it. (check engine light only came on once- and no other alarms but in a 6 hour drive it happened 15-20 times. Fearful to pass a car for fear it might stall again...
I was going West on fair view avenue in tucson, Arizona when my car suddenly shifted out of drive into something below drive. It started shimmying back and forth and would not proceed. I was coming upon a 4 way stop, so I finally got the car back into drive; it seemed ok. I drove very carefully and slowly home without incident--maybe 4 or 5 blocks. However, when I turned into my garage, the gearshift shifted below again and my car shimmied out of control back and forth and the right side of my car was badly scraped, and the left taillight cracked. So, the first time I was briefly stationary waiting for the cars ahead of me to move, but the second time I was in motion but moving very slowly to negotiate the entrance to the garage, so almost stationary. The garage was not damaged. I do not have a cell phone that can take photos at this time, but I hope to secure a cell phone. The dealership always inspects my car for its regular service, so they must have records. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Vehicle stalls out and leaves motorists stranded. Engine stalls and has the potential to resume normal power but has a serious lag between power given and power accepted by engine (2-5 secs). Possibility for collision is great and possibility for being left stranded is great. Battery and normal maintenance has been performed.

For a while now when my car accelerates between 3 and 3.5 rpms the throttle control sensor goes off, and when that happens traction control turns off check engine light goes on and I cant go over 20mph.
My 2016 Jeep Compass began stalling while idling at stop lights as well as stalling while driving last week. I've googled and I see that several Jeep owners are having this issue as well. I've not found a recall for my specific VIN, however, there was one issued for Dodge and Jeep manufactured from may, 8, 2016 - July 12, 2016. Crankshaft and camshaft sensor wire harness not manufactured correctly, this is mainly for 2.0 L and 2.4 L engines. Recall # S89/NHTSA hov-907. This is outrageuous! auto shops can't seem to diagnose this issue properly, but somehow the NHTSA did! my car is in the shop as I write this, I"ve missed two days of work and I am very upset that this vehicle has been sold, and so-called inspected prior to being sold. This recall was issued back in January of 2017, the statement was dated February 2017. I bought my Jeep in January of 2018, I am the second owner, and now, I F eel as though Chrysler is covering this up by not issuing a total recall on all vins this should have been sent out to all dealers, especially pre-owned dealers.
Car throwing catalytic converter code. Was in shop 3 times this year with engine issues. Stalling out on me in the middle of nowhere. Misfiring on multiple cylinders. Driving up hills overheats losses power only goes 40 mpr up hills. Cuts out randomly.
