My vehicle sounds like it's down shifting when driving between 40 & 50 miles and it has cut off on me several times when tuning the corners and something always sounds like it's rattling. I've taken it several times to the dealership and because no codes pop up they want to charge me to inspect it. I've complained about these issues since I've purchased it. There have been times when all of my functions light up or it tells me my key is not in the vehicle when it's in plain site. This happens when I'm driving on the street or freeway.

Vehicle has randomly shuts down while driving street or highway. Service transmission light comes on while driving and car decelerates which is extremely dangerous at highway speeds. Back up camera instrument panel intermittently does not work. I am sure there is more but at this time this is all I can think about as my daughter, son-in-law and grandbabies are stuck on the side of the road 250 miles from home. Most recent occurrence today with transmission light.
I bought a 2018 Jeep Compass in 2019 it had about 10 thousand miles on it. 4 months later I'm heading to work and car stalls out. I started back up and made it to my local garage they checked the oil and there was not a drop of oil in it. They said it was there fault they never put oil in when I purchased. 4 months later completely out of oil again. And here we are today 2 months after the last service call my is going threw almost an entire tank of oil every 2 months. And my local dealership where I purchased the car keeps making me do oil consumption test...and my car has completely ran out of oil 3 times and I have had 2000 miles more to go before I needed an oil change. I actually run out of oil in my way before I need an oil change. I have complained to the Jeep corporation several times in the last year and they will do nothing to fix.
Stop/start not available, backup camera goes out or does not work, engine is super hot high heat, check transmission ligh, check engine light, amber stop start light, putting in reverse and car will die out or hesitate, only 14,000 miles 2 years old all these symptons came on this week. Truly frustrating 2 year old car and its rediculous how bad this is. I will never buy this Compass or Jeep again.
Car will intermittently cut off while driving causing you to have to put in park, turn off and then restart car. This has happened on more than one occasion. Today 8.12 I was making a left hand turn and in the midst of the turn the car cut off which automaticlly engaged the parking break. I had to disengage the break, push car to medium to avoid oncoming traffic, put in park and cycle the car off. I was able to immediately restart the car but the entire process takes a few minutes.
The engine burns an excessive amount of oil and then stalls while running - this is a huge safety issue. The first time this happened no oil light came on and it only flashed a few times on the second instance. Only 43000 miles on the engine an still under warranty but Jeep is refusing to address this issue. Only 3000 miles since last oil change and had to bring to dealership because of stalling and was told it needed oil (3+ quarts). This is a know issue to Jeep and they are putting people's lives at risk. Jeep is claiming that this is normal. They refuse to address because the issue is big and they refuse to pay to fix this. This happened to my daughter several times when driving. The dealer said it is a know issue and Jeep is saying not covered under warranty. They charged us $185 today and said we need to check oil at ever fill up.
Was driving on the highway 65 miles an hour car completely shut down emergency brake was engaged. Message popped up on dash stated to shift car in to park and restart. I went from 65 miles an hour to the side of the road in the matter of seconds a semi almost crashing into me. Pulled over restarted the car, started driving to the dealership when it happened to me again on the way. Left car at dealership was told the next day I needed to purchase an oil change. Dealership said there was no oil on the dipstick and no other problems were found. I am 1000 miles away from an oil change. The dealership said that these cars consume oil excessive amounts that means 5 quarts of oil has been consumed in between my oil changes. I do not trust driving this car myself or with my family. I had no indication or warning that oil levels were even low. Want me to get an oil change and do a 500 mile check for 3000 miles I do not trust driving this car for even 5 miles. Jeep nor dealership will not do anything else until he consumption test is complete. I have also read other complaints stating they are getting replacement engines put in and they are the same engines with no problems fixed.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while on a hill with the engine idling on several occasions, the vehicle auto shut-off feature engaged and the vehicle shutdown however restarted after several minutes. The contact stated the vehicle consumed an excessive amount of oil. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken several times to hillview motors (5309 us-30 E, greensburg, pa 15601, (724) 858-4809) where a oil consumption test was performed and the contact was informed the vehicle performed as designed. Additionally, oil was added to vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 6,000.
I started the car and everything would turn on except the engine (vehicle stationary). Sometimes the back up camera is black and won't turn on when reversing (vehicle moving). The engine light randomly turns on when there's nothing wrong with the Jeep (programming/electrical issue"?") & a bunch of other lights, but then the next day it'll be gone; or it'll be gone after I turn the vehicle on & off multiple times (this happens when vehicle is moving on highway). All 3 of these incidents have happened several times & I feel very unsafe driving myself & my family in this vehicle, because of it.
Since a month after I bought the vehicle I been back to the dealer fixing vehicle in everything. Car has been through new engine new radio new 4 set of tires new steering rack new brakes new rotors new lug nuts etc I have all my paperwork
The 2.4 L engine in this car has oil consumption issue.fca negated all prior tests they did and say I must start over and test every 1500 miles, not every 2000. They dont want to replace the lousy engines. Car shuts off on road when oil gets too low.very dangerous! they say just have it towed to dealership when engine dies. Card has been towed there 3 times so far for malfunctions in engine.they want to put a lock on oil filter and demand only they do oil changes or consumer is responsible for new engine. Any recourse?

Oil consumption of over 1 qt-2qt over 2000 miles or less with engine light illumination and electrical issues w/O warning. Automatic shutdown when driving and Chrysler says its normal oil consumption. Eval. Guidelines change with each study.oil consumption test very specific and is billed to owner indiscriminately. No discussion of repair.
