Vehicle was idling in driveway. Strapped child in carseat, got in, put our seat belts on, put foot on brake and car from park to reverse. Car accelerated at high rate of speed forward with foot on brake the whole time. Foot never touched the gas. Car ran into a rock wall continuing to accelerate, went up the wall and almost rolled comming to rest half on half off the wall.
Many of the problems I have had with this vehicle could have caused a fatal crash. There are many failures apparently not being addressed by Chrysler. Jeep vehicles should be sold along with legal representation. The list of problems I have encountered so far are as follows: Complete automatic transmission, lf axle, viscous coupler in transfer case--big $$, complete A/C system, cruise control, air bag sensor, speedometer assy.+ the recalls as of date--fr. Brake rotors, shift interlock--very unsatisfied 1st time Jeep owner.
Vehicle had been towed, and was being removed from a flatbed. Husband got in vehicle to start it when it accelerated. It hit tow truck, and then reversed itself, went forward and hit another object.
The vehicle was parked. As the ignition was activated with foot on brake the vehicle accelerated at a high speed when put into reverse. Applying the brakes did not stop the vehicle. The vehicle hit 2 other vehicles at speed causing dmage to both and injury to the driver.
