The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 55 mph, the headlights failed without warning. The contact mentioned that the headlight switch was turned off and on in order for the headlights to re-illuminate. The failure recurred on several occasions. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V438000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
