2007 Grand Cherokee, not starting, no crank, intermittent problem, replaced the battery with new, replaced the starter twice counting today. Trying to get to the bottom of what's going on before taking it to the dealer which hasn't been able to supply any useful information to date except to say it sounds like a starter problem.

The problem comes and goes, I thought I had it narrowed down to the started since I could tap the starter and the jeep would start. Yesterday however again no start, planned on taking it back to the shop( non-dealer) good guys, anyway who were going to replace the starter for free since I just had it replaced two months earlier. They suggested trying using the suggestion of a repair bulletin TSB# 08-007-08 ( pulling some fuses) you can goggle this for info. still no start, switched out the starter fuse and ignition fuse with the same rating fuse from other components. just to see. and the jeep started, didn't touch the starter. back it out of garage, shut off, no start again, messed with the fuses again , no start, tapped starter again , no start, pulled and cleaned cable connections, from battery , and both fuse panel, no start, jiggled the panel no start. really tapped on the starter , it started. took it to the shop, they replaced the starter but , it started for them and they bench tested the removed starter and said it tested good. I will get to the bottom of this even if Jeep's Engineers, can't provide the techs with the solution to this problem.

Update from Sep 18, 2015: A new starter wiring harness installed on the jeep by dealer has resolved this problem. installed 2 years ago..

Starter clicked, but engine didn't spin. No prior indication of failure. Started fine that morning. Battery tested good. Dealer verified starter is bad and replaced under extended warranty.

Vehicle runs fine; then the starter will simply not function. I understand this has happened to a number of folks with this model/year and it is not the starter but a problem with the Wireless Control Module; perhaps a failure of the wiring under the battery compartment or a frayed connection to the module.
