I had received a notice in the mail regarding a recall on my Jeep. I have called multiple dealerships and have been told that the parts haven't even been distributed yet. When I called again recently I was told the parts weren't even made yet and to make sure nothing heavy was hanging from my keys. Use my car everyday and I'm concerned for my safety. There has been multiple times were the car has shut off on my and/ or has had no power to it when driving. I feel as though no one is helping us with this matter. I would like answers instead of being left in the dark. Thank you for your time.

In may of 2014 I replaced my starter because when I would attempt to start my vehicle it would crank but the engine would not turn over. The condition persisted even after putting on an new starter. I eventually went to a Jeep dealer and they were unable to remedy the problem. I received a recall notice from Chrysler about P41/NHTSA 14V-438 recall but was not given a time frame as to when I would be able to take the vehicle in for servicing. In the meantime I continue to drive the one vehicle and it has continued to not start in instances when I need it most. It has done so while my wife had the vehicle which has caused me great distress as she was alone and panicked when it happened. The vehicle does start eventually after about 20 minutes or so. This is unsafe and unacceptable. We spoke to a representative at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and she told us she could not say when the part would be available. She went on to say we could wait it out or trade it in and basically tack on the amount owed on to the purchase of another vehicle. This is not an option. This situation is very inconvenient as I use the vehicle primarily to commute to work and if unable to drive to work our household income will take a huge blow. We seek remedy. Numerous times I've been driving and my car has lost power and I've had to restart the engine. Sometimes it takes a while for my car to start on the first turn of the key. The start gets dragged on. Sometimes all my check engine lights come on with every other lights as well. Several times I have to wait then start the car and it will turn on. Besides the car completely turning off while I'm driving, now my car won't turn on at all. The battery is fine. Radio and everything turns on. But the ignition won't click over and start my car. So, now I am with no car for work. I called Chrysler headquarters for my calls recall back in September and was told they are out of the part they need. My car worked then, just very sketchy, so I was ok waiting, just extremely cautious. Now it won't even turn on, I called Jeep, they said they are still waitin for the part and all I can do is wait on the list. They won't even give me a loaner since it's a recall issue and not a "service" issue. I have no car, and not the money for a new one, so now I'm at a loss.

While driving my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee (11/8/14) I was at a red light and the vehicle just cut off! I heard a beeping sound and noticed all the lights on the dash board were off while the car was in "drive". I put the car in "park" & turned the key in the "off" position--waited a few minutes & started the car again. I had my mother with me & told her about the "recall" & this was it...the ignition switch (recall P41). We decided to go home & when I pulled in her driveway, the same thing happened again...the engine just cut off! I'm very afraid to drive my Jeep now...this could have happened while I was on the highway!! something needs to be done now!! this is my only means of transportation!! what procedures do you have in place to assist people until you are able to get the replacement part(s)? lives are at stake!!

I was driving down squirrel at approximately 5:40pm and going around 45-50mph when suddenly my car jerked and completely stalled and shut off. I lost all control of my car and I could not steer to go onto the grass. I immediately put my hazards on and came to a stop and restarted my car. This issue has been happening since September 1st. It has been in and out of the shop for the same issue since September 1st. It's been in and out of the shop about 10-15 times for the same issue. I have spent over $2,100 in repairs, fixes, and replacements. This issue is clearly not fixed and this is a serious safety concern. They keep releasing me a car that is completely unsafe to drive. This not only happened once, but this has happened every single time they have released me my car.

I was coming to a stop at a stoplight and everything went dead. I couldn't stop the vehicle so it had to roll to a stop. After, I could not restart it. We had to push it to the side. It was towed to dealer. The battery was checked along with the engine. They said it was the ignition switch and that there was a recall. They said they didn't have the parts then and they'd call us when in. They never did. A year goes by and this happened again 2 weeks ago. It was taken to dealer and we were told it was part of the recall, but they could not get the parts to fix it. The dealer said then to write Jeep and complain.

While accelerating the vehicle lost power and the prndl lights all illuminated. After a few seconds power resumed. This has happened several times and the check engine light has come on. We have been told its error code U0404 and the electronic shift module needs to be replaced. It appears this is a very common occurrence for this year vehicle. It is a safety concern because if it happened during high traffic times it could certainly cause an accident.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the service engine sensor illuminated intermittently on several occasions. The contact also mentioned that while traveling at any speed, the vehicle suddenly hesitated, drastically reduced speed and stalled multiple times. The contact was able to restart the vehicle each time but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer more than twice and they were not able to replicate or diagnose the failure. The service engine sensor continued to stay lit each time the contact was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced and a tune up was required. The vehicle was repaired and the failure recurred with the service engine sensor and the lift gate sensor illuminating. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced the lift gate sensor. Also, the dealer replaced the PCM sensor and upon leaving the dealership the failure recurred with the service engine sensor illuminating again. The authorized dealer provided further inspection from two technicians, who were not able to remedy the failure with the service engine sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

2007 Grand Cherokee repeatedly lost engine power, power steering and braking. Unclear on loss of airbags. Vehicle taken to bob caldwell Jeep dealership in columbus, oh. We were informed that no recall existed for that year/model. When we returned home we received notification for Chrysler regarding details of recall. Immediately called dealership and they were like "oh, that recall". they had given us a $4000 quote to repair the problem prior to our bringing the actual recall notification for Chrysler. Caldwell then told us that no part existed and they couldn't help us. Today I contacted Chrysler and received a reference #693786. It is supposed to track the non manufactured part when it actually ships at an unknown future date. Chrysler is not able to remedy this defect within a reasonable time..at this point actually they cannot fix at any time as part does not exist. This situation puts my family at great risk. Chrysler states Jeep is safe to drive...let's hope so for our sake.

For a couple years my Jeep Grand Cherokee has experienced several episodes of ignition shut off. I spoke with my local dealer and they said it was not an issue with Jeep, only some Dodge models. I paid to have a 2nd computerized key made at the dealership, as Dodge was saying their issue was related to the driver having other keys on ignition key ring. This way I had a single ignition key. Still experienced the issue. Last time I was making a left hand turn from a subdivision on to a busy 2 lane hwy with a posted speed of 50 miles per hr. Ignition shut off as I started to cross the right hand lane. Fortunately I had enough forward momentum to clear traffic and came to rest on the left hand shoulder by a farmers field. I finally received in the mail the official Chrysler recall notice for my Jeep due to ignition shut off. Called my local dealer this morning to set up an appointment, although the recall said they would contact me. With several incidents, I felt time was critical. My dealer advised me they had not received the official recall notification from Chrysler and therefore could not schedule the repair free of charge. If however I wanted to pay for the repair they could schedule. I advised them that was not acceptable. Emailed Chrysler customer relations and here also, my dissatisfaction and what appears to be a wonton disregard for human safety by a manufacture and their representative.
