The failure burned the wires and caused the electrical system to fail. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the manufacture sent an engineer to inspect the failure. The engineer concluded that the inadvertent air bag deployment was not caused by a manufacturing defect, although the engineer did not provide a specific cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 180,000.

The contact hit a rcok wall, the contact hit a pickup at an angle on the front left fender and the wall at the same time, the impact pushed the pickup into a Lexus SUV.the contacts air bags never deployed.the vehicle came to an abrupt stop.two police officers arrived on the scene. The contact sustained injuries to head, face, neck, shoulder, chest, back, right foream, shins and right ankle. There was a total of three vehicles involved. The contacts vehicle was considered a total loss.the contact later was told there was a recall on the vehicle 06V493000 for the brakes. The current and failure mileage was 4071.
