Estimate is 3-4 MONTHS for replacement part. What a pain in the ass, problem seems to have an issue for many years, why is it still happening. Is there any recourse?

Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission

We noticed strange things right away like the programmed seat selections not saving, but wrote them off as user error. Once the AC went out and then came back on without any intervention, we knew there was a problem and it was not a "charging" issue. But Jeep insisted on charging us $200+ to test the charging which provided we were correct, the root cause is not AC charging. Jeep dealer said we need a new TIPM and the cost all in is close to $900. Since the initial quote the AC magically came back on for 6 weeks but went back out again this week. I don't understand how there can be so many TIPM complaints but the government doesn't mandate that Jeep recall TIPMs after 2011.
