I had a creaking noise that started out anytime I went over a speed bump. Took it to the shop and they said the sway bar bushings were bad. They checked it, but knew the issue before they even diagnosed it because it is such a common problem with Jeeps. Jeep created these sway bar bushings so you cannot lubricate them like most other vehicles. I was told you have to replace the whole sway bar because they made it all one part. Although it is an easy fix to do yourself, this should not happen on a vehicle that is 2 years old. If you want to use enclosed bushings, at least make it a quality part.

Creaking noise just started and it happens when I accelerate from a stop, and it's also noticeable driving at slow speeds (under 10 miles an hour or so) and when taking turns.

Grand Cherokee Overland Diesel

  • Automatic transmission

Bought this 2014 GC diesel in June of 2014, been nothing but problems. First drivers seat squeaked and needed replaced, had to wait 30 days for parts. Then check engine light at 1500 miles, they updated the software. Then rattle noise developed in dash, fixed with double sided tape, then transmission starts downshifting hard, another software update, already talked about the front suspension issues it went in twice for and fixed with new sway bar assy, saying the bushing was loose and oblong in it.

Now back at dealer for 3rd time, been in shop 16 consecutive days now for a DEF system issue, the first time they cleared the code, came back on during drive home, turned around took it back, waited two weeks for new DEF injector and Pump, picked up light came on during drive home, took it back, now they say they need to keep it over the weekend and drive it 60 min over 60 mph to regenerate the filter.

Biggest POS I have ever owned, not to mention the most expensive car. Have a 15 year old BMW 525 with no problems and a 2005 Yukon Denali with no problems. This Jeep is crap, I'm trading it in as soon as they can get it fixed long enough to take to a dealer and off load this crap. Don't even think about buying one of these, beautiful car but completely unreliable junk!
