The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after turning the vehicle off, the brake lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the Hydraulic Control Unit was faulty and needed to be reprogramed. The Hydraulic Control Unit was reprogrammed under NHTSA Campaign: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) but the failure persisted. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

The contact took the vehicle to receive the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact noticed that the recall stated that the repair would take 30 or more minutes however, the dealer completed the repair within 10 minutes. The failure persisted the gear shifter failed to display the correct gear that the vehicle had been shifted into. Additionally, the fuel level indicator failed to provide the correct fuel level in the vehicle. The contact also stated that the windshield wipers would activate independently on occasions. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the hydraulic control unit and ABS needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

The contact stated that several unknown warning lights would illuminate while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance.
