The electrical system of this vehicle is causing several issues putting the safety of me, my passengers and drivers around me at risk. Starting at 6,300 miles the vehicle had a temporary loss of power steering. After parking for a day the power steering returned, leading me to believe it was caused by an electrical/software code issue. There was a safety recall for the battery pack starting on fire while parked, driving or charging. No fix was available for quite a while and I could not charge the car or park in the garage. Shortly after having the computer updated to stop it from spontaneously catching fire I have been getting a warning light saying to maintenance the hybrid system, and is accompanied with a momentary loss of propulsion. This happens without warning every 150 miles or so. The dealership said it had a -??digital crash-?? code and was not able to reproduce, but I have video evidence of the warning lamp coming on and then clearing itself. There is now a safety recall issued for this exact problem with no fix available at this time. There are no warning lamps in advance of these issues occurring, only concurrent to the issue happening. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Past experience tells me I could lose propulsion and/or steering at any time. I need to drive to work, it is unrealistic to not drive my vehicle until a resolution is found for the current round of safety recalls. I am afraid this vehicle is going to kill someone.
The hybrid battery had the potential to catch fire and it was recalled for a software update, the 95b update. After this software update was completed, the vehicle would completely shut down, regardless of being parked or while driving. The dealership deemed the vehicle "unsafe to drive" and has provided a loaner until they can correct the problem. In addition to this, the front suspension has been worked on many times, approximately 5-6 times to remedy a clinking noise when turning at full turn. Currently, they have not been able to remedy this problem. The manufacturer has refused to do a buy back on the vehicle, yet also refuses to give the vehicle back due to, in their words; "It is unsafe to drive".
I bought this Jeep new in 2023 and it started making this noise when it had 7000 miles on it. If was normal operational noise, why didn't it have it when it was new? Many owners on Jeep forums (JeepGarage, WLJeepForum, JeepForum, WranglerForum) report: Rattle starts light and worsens with heat soak. The company often states it is a -??normal operational noise. -??Some report replacement of the entire sway bar disconnect actuator assembly under warranty resolving the noise temporarily or permanently but there is no standardized procedure. After an hour drive, the loud banging noise is huge distraction while driving. I have driven for many years and have never heard anything such as this rattle trap, especially for upward of $80,000, while fearing that it may leave the road at anytime. Any suggestions would be helpful. The worst vehicle I have ever driven and I am [XXX], INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In January work related to recall 95B was performed on the Jeep. The next day the issues started with a warning light indicating the Hybrid System needed service. The Jeep has been in repair for this issue 6 times and over 56 days with no resolution. It is currently in for repair. A buy back request was made but both FCA and the arbitrators indicate it is not a safety concern. There are safety concerns related to the Warning light as it appears to impact electrical communications in the vehicle. Repair notes indicate the communication issues. Also, power steering has stopped working and the engine has died while driving causing a rapid deceleration. Multiple users are reporting the same issues or additional impact related to the Hybrid warning light that started after 95B work.

Purchased used 22 GC summit reserve V8 and within hours of leaving dealer I knew something was very wrong with the front suspension. Fast forward to used car dealership pointing fingers at Jeep for not fixing issues not disclosed to me before the sale and Jeep claiming shady dealer practices we now know it-??s the Rack and Pinion bar and components. 7 grand out of pocket after a day of ownership is not happening. My vin is one of few not showing up for the recall Z18/NHTSA 22V-154. It-??s a perfect description of the recall and my jeep is the correct year make and model. The Jeep is at dealer currently and the price keeps changing which tells me someone isn-??t telling the truth and they-??re covering something else up. I just want this resolved as I paid mostly cash for this truck and haven-??t gotten to drive it for more than a couple hours to the dealership.
I've had issues with this jeep grand cherokee 4xe randomly shutting down on the highway at speeds between 65-75 mph. The service engine and transmission lights come on and the vehicle itself dies out and will power on but will not start for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. This is the fourth time I've had the issue and the dealership can not pin point a reason/fix for the car suddenly stopping. This last time the power steering went out as well these issues have almost caused several accidents. The dealership just clears the codes after saying the can not replicate the problems I'm having and gives the car back. I've gotten to the point now after almost being rear ended trying to clear the vehicle that I no longer feel safe driving it not only for myself but the other drivers around me a car with a little over 20,000 miles should not be having these issues consistently.

I called our dealership to schedule the repair for this recall; they indicated that parts have been back ordered and they are only getting one part per week to accomplish repairs. They have a waiting list established on which I am number 62, which at the current rate of receipt of parts, I would be waiting for about 15 months to get the recall repair completed. For a recall that could potentially cause a crash without warning, this seems like something that should be addressed more quickly than 15 months.
My safety is at risk driving this vehicle. There is an open recall stating you may lose steering without prior warning. This has been going on for over 1 month and still there is no remedy to fix this issue. This is out of control and needs to be fixed now before somebody gets hurt! (I'm not currently driving this vehicle because the risk is so high yet no dealer or Chrysler themselves will help me. They both told me I should continue to drive the vehicle.)
The vehicle suffered complete loss of power steering function. The wheel could not be turned and the vehicle would not respond. Cycled the vehicle on and off multiple times with no restoration of power steering. Vehicle was towed to dealership. Vehicle spent 18 days in service with no fix other than to clear code U0131 "Loss of Comm with power steering" and to do a EPS Flash. Vehicle power steering issue may come again and no fix offered by Jeep. Phone call to Jeep fielded no help and offered no assistance.
The first occurrence was upon starting the vehicle in a parking lot. The death cluster lit up with power steering unavailable, airbags unavailable, autobrake disengaged, and the the battery warning. The dealership towed the vehicle and replaced the batteries. In April of -??22 While driving the vehicle the power steering became unavailable, forcing a difficult left turn off a major roadway. The same warning lights came on and the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed and a new power steering rack and steering gear were installed. Third occurrence was in the driveway recently when again upon starting the same warning lights were on and there was no power steering available. The vehicle is at the dealership now being inspected.
About two weeks ago, I was driving my Grand Cherokee on highway with my wife and our two-year-old. The power steering light was on and the service light was on. There's also a message saying "power steering lost" popping up at the control panel. The steering was extremely heavy that I lost control of it and could not turn left or right. I pushed brake and turned on emergency light until the vehicle slowed down and eventually stopped on the road shoulder. It was very dangerous. At that point I did not even know there was a recall about power steering on this model - although later I found out my vehicle was not included in that recall it. I took my vehicle to local dealership (Opelika Ford Chrysler Jeep). I also contacted Jeep service line. The staff from Jeep created a case for me (case #: [XXX]) but was not helpful as he refused to give local dealership authorization to repair it - even though the service light was on when I brought it in. The dealership also had some communication with Jeep service. And they were denied authorization to repair it with recall exception or under warranty as they could not duplicate the issue. I was outraged by the lack of responsibility from Jeep as they knew I had a serious incident while they denied authorization to repair it accordingly only because my vehicle was not included in the recall list. I also requested to speak to the supervisor of the Jeep service staff but was told my case was officially closed. Just unbelievable!! I wonder who would take the liability here if we got the vehicle back from dealership without a repair and we crashed with a two-year-old on board. A few moments after I started my car and started to move the steering wheel became stiff and very hard to steer. I received warning messages on the dashboard telling me that the power steering was unavailable. There were also other warnings regarding blind spot and lane control systems.
Power steering and other warning lights, including blind spot monitoring and lane assist, came on in a Grand Cherokee. I was unable to move the vehicle - the power steering was locked. Fortunately, it wasn-??t on the road, but the driver was stranded until able to get the vehicle started eventually. The issue with the power steering is concerning, especially while driving. The engine light has remained on since.
After starting the vehicle, I placed it in reverse and warning light came on - steering unavailable, lane change and collision warning unavailable. I was not able to steer the vehicle. Shut engine off several times and had the same problem. Later in the day, I started the vehicle with no problems. Called the dealer and they said that there was nothing they could do until it happens to them.
