The hybrid battery had the potential to catch fire and it was recalled for a software update, the 95b update. After this software update was completed, the vehicle would completely shut down, regardless of being parked or while driving. The dealership deemed the vehicle "unsafe to drive" and has provided a loaner until they can correct the problem. In addition to this, the front suspension has been worked on many times, approximately 5-6 times to remedy a clinking noise when turning at full turn. Currently, they have not been able to remedy this problem. The manufacturer has refused to do a buy back on the vehicle, yet also refuses to give the vehicle back due to, in their words; "It is unsafe to drive".

I bought this Jeep new in 2023 and it started making this noise when it had 7000 miles on it. If was normal operational noise, why didn't it have it when it was new? Many owners on Jeep forums (JeepGarage, WLJeepForum, JeepForum, WranglerForum) report: Rattle starts light and worsens with heat soak. The company often states it is a -??normal operational noise. -??Some report replacement of the entire sway bar disconnect actuator assembly under warranty resolving the noise temporarily or permanently but there is no standardized procedure. After an hour drive, the loud banging noise is huge distraction while driving. I have driven for many years and have never heard anything such as this rattle trap, especially for upward of $80,000, while fearing that it may leave the road at anytime. Any suggestions would be helpful. The worst vehicle I have ever driven and I am [XXX], INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Incident Date: [XXX] Vehicle: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe | VIN [XXX] | Mileage = 28,853 While driving 20 mph on a paved suburban road in Danville, CA, the driver-side rear lower control arm suddenly fractured without warning. The wheel shifted, and I was barely able to stop safely. Had this occurred at highway speeds, a loss of control-?"and possible crash-?"was likely. The Jeep was towed to the selling dealer. After inspection, the service department blamed -??witness marks-?? (small surface nicks) and told me to file an insurance claim, stating it was not a warranty issue. The vehicle has never been in a collision and is driven only on paved roads. A routine dealer service in Dec 2024 reported no suspension concerns. Photos attached show: Clean break of the control arm; Minor nicks cited as impact evidence; Street on which the vehicle was being driven when the control arm failed; The Jeep is marketed as off-road capable. A control arm that fails on a county road represents a serious safety defect for all owners. I request NHTSA investigation and manufacturer action. Purchased used 22 GC summit reserve V8 and within hours of leaving dealer I knew something was very wrong with the front suspension. Fast forward to used car dealership pointing fingers at Jeep for not fixing issues not disclosed to me before the sale and Jeep claiming shady dealer practices we now know it-??s the Rack and Pinion bar and components. 7 grand out of pocket after a day of ownership is not happening. My vin is one of few not showing up for the recall Z18/NHTSA 22V-154. It-??s a perfect description of the recall and my jeep is the correct year make and model. The Jeep is at dealer currently and the price keeps changing which tells me someone isn-??t telling the truth and they-??re covering something else up. I just want this resolved as I paid mostly cash for this truck and haven-??t gotten to drive it for more than a couple hours to the dealership.

While driving my car on the interstate and main highways, it started wobbling back and forth worsening as it was driven further. The main body of the car began swaying left to right while still driving in a straight line. As we noticed it, luckily there was a Jeep dealership at the next exit on the interstate, so we took it straight to them and the senior mechanic stated he had "never seen anything like it" how there were multiple breaks in the metal connecting the passenger side rear knuckle joints without a known impact to the site of damage on the car, he stated "something like that should have never broken by itself without you hitting something". Nothing was or has ever been hit in this car, this piece of equipment failed on its own and put several people's life in danger, the wheel could have very well come off and caused a crash at interstate speeds of up to 75mph (the local speed limit) and surely would have caused multiple fatalities as there were multiple passengers. The vehicle has been inspected by the team at Blue Ribbon Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and is being repaired there, and the available broken parts will be returned to me when the repairs are completed as evidence. There were no notices or warnings from the system alerting us of any issue with the suspension or any other malfunction in the car. This is a very dangerous issue if there are multiple other cars that have had this issue.

we have reported to the dealer multiple instances of noises (crunching and low thuds) and 'thumping' felt through floor boards coming from what appears to be front passenger side. Dealer installed right from sway bar end link as well as subsequently perform NHTSA mandatory recall repairs on Front Upper Control Arm to Steering Knuckle Pinch Bolt. After each 'repair' the problem appears to be getting worse (additionally we had the experience of the 'Sway Bar Disconnect Unavailable' light coming on while driving on a paved surface without having depressed the Sway-Bar button). We brought the vehicle into the Dealer again and one of the Service Managers came for a ride and confirmed our complaints. After a day of looking the Dealer stated that they are going to replace parts previously installed as they may have been defective. Parts are on order but we are concerned for our safety in continuing to drive the vehicle, due not only the sounds we are hearing / feeling but after having researched complaints online (as there are many folks having similar experiences, it appears that Chrysler / Jeep still have more work to do on the safe operation of the vehicle. thank you

I called our dealership to schedule the repair for this recall; they indicated that parts have been back ordered and they are only getting one part per week to accomplish repairs. They have a waiting list established on which I am number 62, which at the current rate of receipt of parts, I would be waiting for about 15 months to get the recall repair completed. For a recall that could potentially cause a crash without warning, this seems like something that should be addressed more quickly than 15 months.

I am writing to provide feedback and express my concerns about the safety and reliability of my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Over the last 12 months, my vehicle has been subject to three recalls, including a severe safety recall involving the potential for the Upper Control Arm (UCA) to separate from the knuckle, and a failed rear differential. The most recent recall, announced on February 28, has been particularly troubling, as it has rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive or rent out, directly impacting my livelihood as I use this vehicle exclusively for Turo rentals. It has been over 30 days since the announcement of the recall, and I have received no indication of when the necessary repairs will be made available. A timeline for resolution exceeding 30 days for such a significant safety recall and the absence of interim support measures from the manufacturer has left me in a precarious position, both financially and in terms of vehicle safety. I am concerned about the frequency of recalls and the severity of the issues identified in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the extended period without a resolution or clear communication from the manufacturer exacerbates these concerns. I kindly request that NHTSA investigate the handling of this and previous recalls for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to ensure that consumer safety and communication are adequately prioritized. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that the NHTSA will take the necessary steps to address these concerns and improve the recall process for the safety and benefit of all consumers. Sincerely,

Received recall letter for my car. I took the car to the dealership for an oil change and recall check. They mentioned they had to order the part for the recall. I also complained about a noise I was hearing when the car was stopped at a light, etc. They mentioned it was the motor mount and would need to be replaced too. I have been trying to obtain updates from the dealership since October 2023, and I keep getting the run around. They were supposed to call me last week to coordinate loaner as supposedly they had received my parts, but never heard back from them. I feel this car is a lemon and I would like to file an official complaint to see what options I have.
