THIS IS NOW THE SECOND OF 2 REAR WINDOWS THAT QUIT WORKING ON ME. I PRESSED BUTTON TO PUT THE WINDOW UP AND HEARD THE DISTINCT SOUND OF BAD LUCK. WINDOW STOPPED WORKING AND FELL DOWN INSIDE DOOR. I NOW HAVE 2 REAR WINDOWS THAT CANNOT BE USED UNTIL FIXED. I AM SO NOT HAPPY WITH THIS.

window just stopped working and fell inside door

I WAS TOLD THIS IS COMMON AND WOULD MOST LIKELY HAPPEN TO THE OTHER REAR WINDOW ALSO. GOT A GENEROUS QUOTE AT ABOUT $200 PART/LABOR. I DID NOT HAVE THE EXTRA CASH AT THE TIME TO REPAIR IT AND LEARNED TO NOT USE THAT WINDOW. GRRRRRRRR

The window fell in 2010. Called Chrysler and they fixed and I only had to pay $100. Was told the part was defective. The window has fell again in 2015. I'm sure because of the same defective part that they fixed it with in 2010. Chrysler has Class action lawsuits against them for this problem. A company this large will not fix the problem they created. I cannot believe they do not have the funds to help out all these owners.

Please go to the Chrysler website and do the online chat or call 1-800-247-9753 and report this to them. Do not stop until we have satisfaction. This is a Chrysler problem and we need to make it their problem. Don't keep paying to fix the defect.

On May 11, 2015, I had to get the "Right Rear Window Regulator" fixed at the Sherwood Dealership in the amount of $ 350.99. The window just fell down would not come up and is not covered under warranty.

On July 12, 2015, I had to get the "Front Window Regulator" fixed and I took it to Pep Boys who charged me $482.84. As stated previously, the window just fell down would not come up and is not covered under warranty.

When I called Chrysler, I was informed only the 2006 & 2007 Jeep Liberty "Window Regulators" are on recall and I did not get a logical explanation why the 2005 is not included. I have paid $833.83 in a matter of (2) months for the Window Regulator which is not a part of the Recall -This is Ridiculous!!!

Bought my Jeep Liberty used a few weeks ago. A few days ago the window made a popping noise and now won't roll up. I can pull it up by hand but it will not stay up when driving. Now it stays open about 6 inches...rain or shine. NOT covered under service warranty.

Within 3 days of each other, both passenger seat window regulators just quit working and windows won't stay up no matter what I try to plug the frame/glass gaps with.

Have a rider who cemented her Jeep window shut because of the outrageous repair quote from dealer.

I have to commute 110 miles daily. Repair wants $350 PER window. For a $10 part???? Just how much money is jeep making off this failure, and how many window units have failed?

And I see that the replacement dealer jobs keep failing as well! Wow, why would a dealership think it was a good thing to replace a part and have it break again shortly after? Talk about gouging your customers. What gives with this...I can't wait to see how long it takes the front seat windows to follow suit now! JEEP? Never again! What's my option, anyone? Too many people seem to be having this issue, any recourse?

$700 for two working windows that will likely fail again soon? That's a bit steep! I'm gobsmacked!!

The left rear window regulator (driver side) went out within two years. Couldn't afford to fix it at the lowest estimate was $400 dollars. Just propped up window inside door the best my son could with a board. It still falls down about 2 inches. I don't have time or energy to try and make it better.

Now last year, (about six months ago) the other side went out. I don't have my son available to take door apart and prop window up, so I've just been using duct tape. I keep taping and re-taping. I shouldn't have had to go through all this taping process. I had read there was a problem with these window regulators from the beginning of my first problem. I could live with one window pretty much closed, (just added duck tape to cover the 2 inches). But now with this additional problem window it's almost unbearable. These rear windows have rarely been used. Amazed that they went out first, so now I don't open the front windows in fear they will go out as I have read and heard from other Jeep owners.

Recently I looked into buying the parts and seeing if I could "do it myself". Each side would cost about $100 (cheapest I found on EBAY) for the upgrade replacement part. I wouldn't dare put in the original design part since it is a MANUFACTURED DEFECTIVE DESIGNED piece of junk. I watched the How To Video to replace it and even the guy in the video had a hard time. Sorry, It looks too scary for me to invest over $200 in parts if I'm not sure I can get through it.

My solution recommendation is that Jeep replace these with the upgraded parts and buy me about ten rolls of duck tape. My time taping is irreplaceable. With all these complaints, I hope there is eventually a RECALL or SETTLEMENT to the Class Action Law Suit.

Okay, this is my daughters 2nd Jeep. She had a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the rear passenger door window regulator broke. Now her 2005 Jeep Liberty has exactly the same problem on the same side (rear passenger door window) and this will be her LAST JEEP. This is unfortunate because she was a Jeep fan, but now she is looking at a totally different type of vehicle. Maybe Jeep will consider a recall on this item and who knows, she may change her mind about Jeeps.

Rear left window fell, dealership replaced window mechanism and told me that they would replace the other window in the rear because it was going to do the same thing eventually. Over the course of the last five years, each of the windows have fallen at least two times each, and of course, after the vehicle was out of the extended warranty.

It is now 2015 (I really like the car otherwise) and my front right window has fallen again, for the 3rd time. It gets very expensive fixing a problem the manufacturer knows is an issue.

Is this issue with the windows under a recall?

Appreciate any information available.

This was the 5th time I've had to replace the regulator in my liberty. And this is since I've owned it. Before I owned the vehicle, all 4 were repaired. I shouldn't have to replace window regulators 9 times over the life of the vehicle.

This was the SECOND time the same thing happened to my car window! The window falls open and will not work. And always seems to happen in a rainstorm so my car gets soaked! I will never buy another Jeep.

This time they acknowledged that it was a Jeep Liberty issue with their windows breaking.

The window on my Jeep Liberty fell open and would not operate at all. I paid about $666.00 to have it fixed.

The morning it happened the car was parked in my driveway and it had stormed the night before so my seats and carpet were soaking wet. The car has a wet odor now that I can't get rid of.

This is the THIRD time this has happened to my windows! The lady at the Jeep Corporate office told me that this is not an issue with my Jeep, after I have already had the same problem two times before.

The first time my window fell down and would no longer operate I paid to have it fixed. The second time it happened the dealership told me it was a Jeep Liberty issue with windows not working. He gave me a number to call and they paid for my window to be fixed and reimbursed me for the first time they fixed the window which I had paid for.

Well now the SAME window has fallen open and will not work at all. I will never buy another Jeep or Chrysler product and would never recommend their products. This is an ongoing expense that I cannot afford.
