Subframe rotted out. Ball joints (both sides) and tires now need replacement. Nobody can find a used subframe in good condition (no wonder) so this has to be purchased new ($855 from Jeep). Entire repair not including tires will be >$2400. This car is only 7 years old. The whole family was in the vehicle when the left ball joint gave out. We are so lucky this didn't happen at a higher speed -minutes before we were traveling at 70 km/hr..

engine cradle has rusted thru

The engine cradle rusted to the point that the front sway bar bracket broke off and the control arm was about to on 1-28-2017. It was at Dick Scott dealership of Plymouth Mi. for a timing chain cover gasket repair on 10-6-2016. When I called the dealership to ask why I was not notified of the safety issue at that time, Butch said we do not inform customers of rust issues. I was refused any assistance with this matter from FCA and was informed this would be an out of pocket expense. I am a grandmother that has owned this vehicle since it was new and have completed all scheduled maintenance. At less than 80,000 miles we have replaced every strut, tie rod, ball joint, and sway bar link. Now the engine cradle!!! It is unconscionable that a certified mechanic would not deem this vehicle unsafe to drive about 100 day before critical failure or the lack of interest of this problem from FCA. See photos!!!

The cradle broke off from the left arm. This should not be possible with this mileage.

Purchased new, 3 winters and this car is sh..... Contacted Chrysler- will take car in on Friday. I will also start filling consumer complaints if they decide to do nothing. They tell me it's not part of warranty. Take a look at pics, looks like a 15-20 year old car!!!!
