Our 2016 Jeep Renegade, broke down on my daughter on July 11th,2018 the car wouldn't start at the gas pump. I called a tow truck that was going to charge 90.00 so she kept trying until the car started. She drove the car straight to the dealership Galeana in Columbia SC(after hours drop off). John called me on Thursday morning, I told him it wouldn't start and the the brake light came on. John the mechanic that service for the Chrysler vehicles said with it not starting had nothing to do with brakes. He charged me 75.00 for a diagnostic test.( He said its the battery). He replaced the battery for total cost of 332.00, plus the oil change. He said this should do it.

On Friday7/13/2018 AFTER picking up the vehicle the parking brakes came on by themselves (again)The vehicle wouldn't move. So I called the service department this morning Monday 7/16/2018. I told John what my daughter said its doing again. He said bring it back so he can check it. I do NOT WANT TO KEEP COMING BACK and Forth to the dealership playing the guessing game, and charging me more money that I do not have. The Jeep is my daughters only car for going back and forth to school and work. I think there should be a recalled as I have read numerous complaints of similar issues with parking brakes and the car shutting off. I feel like the car is unsafe for my daughter with my grandson as a passenger. My daughter has called the service department around 1045 am to set up or schedule an appointment to bring the car back. John was not available. He has not called her back as of 12:05pm

My Jeep has had issues since I bought it. This time I had my E brake/Parking brake malfunction. I came home and parked my car and when I went to get out I noticed that my car started to roll backwards. My Parking Brake decided not to activate. I had set the settings to Automatic when I shut the car off. Well I decided to check the Radio for the setting as maybe it some how reset the setting. But when I tried to check it, all the vehicle control settings were locked out. I could not change the settings at all. The setting was correct.

When I put the key in and moved it to auxiliary not stat, the parking brake then set. I thought this was weird so I started the car and moved it back into my spot and when I shut the car off, noticed it did not set. So I then put the car in auxiliary mode again and it set the brake. I decided to check all my settings and they were all grayed out and I could not make any changes.

This lasted two days as the parking brake would not work as it was set to. But on the third day when I had to take it in to the dealer, the settings on the radio started to work and my parking brake then started to operate like it has always done.

I took it the dealer for some other issues I was having as well. My back up camera was not working or radio screen would get stuck in between camera mode and radio screen mode. They did a ABS software update to fix the issue. Nothing addressed why the radio settings to my Jeep were locked out and at the same time parking brake was malfunctioning.

My car was returned to me knowing that they could not fix it. I am taking it back in 4 days. They do not know what is going on. I am looking for someone else who has had the same issues and what was the fix. I have had 4 radios installed and yet the problem is not fixed.
