Purchased this vehicle in 2020. Was notified by insurance of a recall that was not done. Called the local dealership and they advised work cannot be done because the recall is over 10 years old.
The contact owns a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to grindstaff Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (2226 w elk ave, elizabethton, tn 37643) to be repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 02V041000 (parking brake). The contact stated that after the recall repair was completed, the parking brake failed on multiple occasions. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled forward after engaging the parking brake. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure however, the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 280,000. Consumer stated parts were replaced but recurred again less than 4,000 miles.
The contact owns a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the parking brake failed to engage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Two dealers informed the contact that the part was not available to be repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 02V041000 (parking brake). The manufacturer was notified of the failure who stated that the recall expired. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
