I could have driven right off a mountain cliff if this problem happened 3 days earlier. Luckily, I was on a local side street when my steering went out & I had no control, car scraped the driver side back quarter panel & then came to a stop into a curb in front of the parked car. Two large pieces of rods/metal looked sheared and were hanging out the front of my car. A mechanic said it looked like the sector shaft for the steering was broken.
Now I have to go through all the channels--insurance, Chrysler, dealership, NHTSA etc.
