Wrangler Unlimited Freedom 3.6L

The radio shut off multiple times in a week. Went in to the local stealership and they said there was a problem with it and would order one for me. Cool!!! No more problems. Wrong!! It has done it multiple times since then.

problem #1

Dec 142014

Wrangler Sport 3.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 900 miles

Radio shuts off and restarts to the Jeep Logo Whale on a cruse to Oregon from Sacramento 2 times and once coming back. Just going 65 in 6th gear on the freeway in dry weather. Calling Jeep to bring it in and fix it. Should be covered, only 3 weeks old.

This is the upgraded sound packages, I might add, with the sub and dash video screen.

Update from Dec 16, 2014: Took Jeep to dealer and they said the could not pull a error code off the computer, Nor did the stereo/screen reset whale test driving it. They said they cant replace or diagnose it any further until they get an error? So if they cant drive it long enough to get the same issue of the radio shutting off and restarting then they can't replace it? They said its covered under warranty tho???? If it happens again and gives a error code (witch it hasten after 3 times already ) they could look at it further. Basically Don't buy a jeep with the sound package if you want a sketchy electrical issue. Hope this is all it is, i will continue to try and contact Chrysler to resolve the issue but as far as dealer service, very poor figuring out whats wrong.

Update from Dec 16, 2014: Talked to Jeep there replacing the Radio unit, should take less than a week :) Hope this solves the issue!
