It went into severe vibration and vibration of steering. It was uncontrollable. It happened in my first highway trip since I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed 100 miles. Cost of this was $5697.97. After I paid $30,000+. to Autonation in Spring Texas. Car was released to me with no inspection sticker. Electrical issues were looked at by the dealership and said there is nothing wrong. Can not see at night and turning signals work on and off. Defective roof seals that are leaking into the seatbelt tensioners. When I pull seatbelts to buckle they are wet. The tensioners are sitting in water when it rains.
Dash lights suddenly lit up, power shut down and I had no control. Thankfully, I was able to coast off to the shoulder without incident. Dealer has confirmed that TIPM module was faulty. Upon investigation, I have discovered this is a known problem with many Jeep Chrysler Dodge products.
My vehicle has been suddenly shutting off while I am driving. There is no warning that anything is wrong with the vehicle. The first time it happened was October 2021. When it has these failures they happen multiple times. The next day the car operates normally. There are no consistencies when this happens - it has shut off when I am driving 20mph and 60mph. There are no error messages that come up on the vehicle. I took it to Chuck Patterson and they were unable to retrieve an error code and refused to diagnose intermittent issues. They did not find any visible issues with the vehicle. I have an open case with Stellantis but they have not done anything. This issue has happened when I am driving my 2 year old nephew and is life threatening. Stellantis has not sent out anyone to inspect my vehicle. I bought the vehicle brand new special order and it has 104,000. I have not had any issues until now.
The ABS light and Traction control light are displayed. Very common defect among Jeep Wranglers this can affect braking distance and speed control on various roads.
I I will be driving and the car will go out of gear and looses power. I have to stop, turn it off and start again for it to work. This has happened 5 times in the last year.

While driving, the vehicle loses propulsion; the rpms go to zero for about 3 seconds and then return to normal and acceleration is regained. No check engine light or code is given. This occurred randomly for the last year. In June of 2020 I took it to Jeep dealer who was not able to replicate the problem and said that no code was given. Then in December of 2020 the issue became worse to where the vehicle would completely shut down and not regain power unless restarted. On one occasion it would not restart, leaving me stranded. I took it to an independent mechanic who also could not replicate the problem. The independent mechanic suggested that the symptoms sound like they are related to a fuel pump relay, but that part is not replaceable on my Jeep. They said that other Chrysler vehicles have had recalls for similar problems, but not my year model Jeep. The problem continues to persist randomly. Sometimes it happens twice within an hour, sometimes not at all. When it happens it's always in motion. On January 16th I video recorded the incident while driving. I have the entire thing on video that I can share with you. In the video you can see that I'm driving at a steady speed at 2500 rpms. Then the rpms flash quickly to 3500 rpms and then instantly drop to zero, as though the ignition had been turned off. Although I still have electrical, as my radio and blinkers are working, the Jeep very quickly loses power steering. If I had not been able to quickly pull off the highway my Jeep would have been dead and stranded in the middle of a busy highway. I then attempted to restart the Jeep, but it would not start. I would turn the key just once and let go, but the Jeep would continue trying to start over and over for about 10 seconds before stopping. I was unable to start the Jeep until waiting for a period of about 10 minutes. Then it started up and operated normally.
First owner of vehicle. Issues began with engine light appearing/blinking & vehicle struggling to run within 15K miles. Dealership diagnosed as cylinder misfire & repaired. Has occurred multiple times over life of ownership- always diagnoses as misfires. At apx 75K miles, upon cranking & during operation, heater became inconsistent in operation & this is still an issue. At apx 80K miles, upon cranking & during operation, ticking noise from front passenger side began. Faint at first & became increasingly louder within several days. Out of warranty. Solid check engine light began to appear off/on, remaining on for 24-48hrs then off 24-48hrs. Air conditioner conditioner has about a 15 sec delay before it turns on at every crank & power light for A/C slowly blinks until after the delayed start. Mechanic found 2 rocker heads damaged & they were replaced. Light not on at repair & code could not be pulled. Within 2 days of repair, a faint ticking noise became present on drivers side. Has been a week & ticking is now extremely loud. I am one of many with parallel issues & request this be addressed as my year & VIN do not fall in to the approved extended warranty to cover these very same issues.
While pulling out of my driveway I gently pressed the acceleration pedal and the vehicle started to glad the traction control light on the dash and the brakes were applied via the ABS system. The car lost all forward momentum. I thought maybe the car had just broke traction even though I was on a flat surface that was paved and dry. However, when pulling out of the end of my street the same event happened and put me in a compromising position because the vehicle stopped in oncoming traffic that I was attempting to pull across and there was a car coming. Thankfully I was able to get out of the lane of traffic before I was T-boned in the driver side door.
Clock spring is bad and caused failure of all electrical components on the steering wheel and horn no longer works. Clock spring fuse is good. The horn does not work at the steering wheel at all. Horn works when depressing the panic button. Almost been involved in an accident with my child in the car due to no audible alarm.
Intermittent starting issue very frequent. It happens at least once a day even after I installed a new battery. When I turn the key on everything lights up but car wont start.
Stability control goes out at 70+ mph over any deviation in the road surface and not just a major bump. I lose control of the Jeep completely and have to take my foot of the gas and then it will right itself. This is a threat to life and safety and for a four year vehicle should not be happening. Also, all the electrical components went out and the fuel gauge goes down and up randomly, the stability control lights come on and off which terrify me and I am shaken to the core as I don't want to lose control of the vehicle as I have for the past weeks at 3 or 4 times a week on average! the speedometer goes down to 5 mph then back up to 66mph then back down and my headlight lamps flickered on and off all at the same time. All fuses are intact and secure. Then the Jeep would start and I checked the fuses and made sure they were secure and it started again. I need help and am fearful for my life using this Jeep and have only had it a year. This should not be happening to a 4 yo vehicle. Please assist me. Thank you for your time.
Tipm failure while driving on freeway. Has happened 3 times out of the blue the vehicle loses power, the panel lights flash, and the brakes lockup. If not for the anti lockup system on the breaks I would have been hit. Vehicle panel warning lights stayed on after incident, when get in vehicle the next day everything works normal.
The vehicle's horn and steering controls, except cruise control, all stopped working. I was told the clock spring is bad and Jeep did have a recall on the clock spring for 2007-2010 model year Jeep as well as some 2011-2016 right hand drive Jeep. If you also look through Jeep forums, this still seems to be a consistent problem. The horn is a necessary safety feature and shouldn't be failing when the vehicle was purchased brand new a little over 3 years ago.
When ABS light, traction control light, and down hill assist light comes on at the same time while driving the brakes lock up. All these lights came on and the brakes started locking up while going 50-60 mph. This is going to cause an accident and now I have to get my Jeep towed because it will not allow me to go.
Air bag warning light is on and other functions on steering wheel stopped working.dealership mechanic says ongoing problem with Jeep. Says drive very carfully because air bag will not deploy when light is on. Clock spring has been recalled on many Jeep Wrangler. Thank you.
I have been experiencing the "death wobble" the first time when it was only a year old with 10,000 miles. It was brief and I attributed the issue to road conditions. It happened again around 20,00 miles. It was brief and again on the same freeway attributed to road conditions. I recently experienced it again at 39,000 miles - it was so severe, and violent, shaking the entire vehicle- it was extremely difficult to control the vehicle. I made an appointment at the dealership. The diagnosis was a cracked drag link assembly, need front stabilizer shocks, and rear shocks. On top of that they said there is a crack in the radiator, believed to be from the violent shaking. It's no longer under warranty, with only 39,000 miles - 3,000 miles over and they won't do anything. I have been a long time customer at planet Jeep in flagstaff, AZ. This has been a horrible experience. I will never go back there and won't recommend.
Navigation system stopped working due to a faulty head unit, 430N. The unit says 'can't unlock maps' when going to the navigation screen and then proceeds to say 'detailed maps are unavailable'. navigation function will not work. This is a common and known issue at the dealership and on the forums, however Jeep will only replace the unit while under warranty, regardless of how new the vehicle is. I have contacted Jeep and Chrysler directly and they said because of the miles they will not honor any requests, regardless if it by manufacturer fault or not.
Waiting on a red light Jeep excerpted causing me to climb up car sitting in front of me causing that car to hit the one in front of her we started for the on coming traffic air bags never opened
Jeep Wrangler jk unlimited sport S 35K miles. Vehicle wipers will not turn off. Issues where the wipers can be activated with the fog light control and vice versa. The fog lights can come on at random and begin to flash on and off. It is truly frustrating to not be able to turn my wipers off. I went to the dealer and they diagnosed it as both the wiper switch and headlight/fog light switch were shorting and both needed to be replaced. The estimate was $700 for repair. This is rediculous for a 3 year old vehicle and just months out of the 3 year warranty. My guess is that if replace both the switches, the issue will return and then the true cause, which I suspect to be the tipm, will need to be replaced for another $1200.
