An internal defect in the 2014-2020 Jeep Wranglers with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine affects its rocker arms, lifters, and related valvetrain components, including the engine control module (ECM) software that controls the precise timing and function of the lifters. Specifically, the rollers of a Pentastar engine-??s rocker arms prematurely wear down, become loose, and then drop, which shifts the rocker arm out of alignment. The rocker arms then come into contact with the cam, scraping both components and creating metal debris. This Pentastar V6 engine defect creates an audible ticking sound that stems from metal particles and debris from the failed rocker arms and other components, contaminating the engine oil and circulating throughout the engine. This defect also causes engine misfires, resulting in bucking and surging, decreased engine performance, hesitation, loss of power, premature wear on internal components, and eventually catastrophic engine failure. The check engine light came on in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with 69,000 miles. After having it read by a dealer, it showed the P219A code, Bank 1 air/fuel imbalance. The dealership told me that if the Jeep was running fine, I did not have to worry about it, as it was likely an O2 sensor. The code was cleared, and the P219A code returned the following day. It was driven approximately 500 miles before noticing that it began idling roughly and had an engine tick, which the dealership confirmed to be a valvetrain issue. The rocker arms, lifters, valves, and camshaft components of the Pentastar V6 engine in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with 70,000 miles have failed. Three Jeep dealerships in my area and MANY online forums stated that this is a common occurrence with this engine, which has escalated my concern about this problem.

Vehicle started to get extreme smell of gas fumes, interior and exterior, to the point it would make you nauseous. My vehicle was taken to a dealer where the tech noticed that a fuel pump was leaking and a fuel line behind the engine had a small hole in it and was leaking on the top and was unlikely debris hit it, to get at the line the whole motor has to get dropped. After reading the description of the fuel line/pump issues with the 2020 2.0 L, this seems that it would be related and part of the effected parts.

I just purchased my 4th Wrangler last month from a dealership - a 2020 Certified Pre-Owned Unlimited Sport Willys 2.0L with Automatic transmission. Within the first days, I noticed odor of fuel or exhaust that would be more obvious some times than others, and not constantly strong or apparent. At first I thought maybe it was from being in garage at dealer and something on a mat, but then it continued and was more apparent if I had the windows closed and the heat on. Called the dealer two weeks ago and got an appointment to have it checked this past Friday. First I was told I-??m probably not used to it if it-??s my first -??turbo-?? (which made no sense), then they came back to tell me it-??s probably dirty air filters (which they should-??ve checked/changed when they inspected it before selling it because it was at 31,200mi). Then they decided to take it for a ride and, lo and behold, they smelled what I have been smelling. They put it back on the lift to look again. Diagnosis: Fuel leak from the connector to the high pressure fuel line. I see there were some JLs with 2.0L manufactured the same year recalled for this, but they insisted mine wasn-??t. Search online confirms it-??s not included in the recall. I had no luck getting anywhere when I called Jeep customer service either. The dealer wants to charge me my extended warranty deductible when I haven-??t even made my first payment on it yet. (According to vehicle records, 3 years for manufacturer warranty was up Nov 2022, and it has less than 32,500mi.) They insisted they keep it while waiting for the part for repair because it-??s unsafe to drive, and put me in a rental (which they told me they didn-??t have available when I asked for the appointment). I think this is clearly a safety issue consistent with other recalls for this model and should be repaired at no cost to me. Perhaps the initial recall didn-??t include all the vehicles it should have.

I am having a stalling issue when driving down the road. its not a constant issue but will occasionally stall/stop accelerating. you will have to let off the pedal and push down again. it will gain power back right after and be fine. believe it possibly a fuel pump issue or tps problem.

I was driving my vehicle on the expressway and a dash light with an -??A-?? and a circle came on. My car began to slow down on its own and would not allow me to accelerate. I managed to coast off the expressway to an exit. I immediately smelled gas and my eyes began to burn. I tried to restart my car but it was sputtering. I checked under the hood and the car smelled like strong gas. After this my eyes were burning as if someone sprayed pepper spray in them. I had get assistance to get a tow. I went to a nearby urgent care to get my eyes checked out because after all of this they were blood shot red-??.I see that some 2020 2.0L Jeeps have a fuel line recall but my recall isn-??t showing up. This vehicle should definitely have a recall. I also have issues with my radio saying -??overheating-?? then the volume goes out and the radio shuts off.

Our jeep has smelled of gas since our first week. We were told is was normal, when the tank is just filled or nearly empty, However It happpens all the time and I see that 14,000 2020 jeep wranglers were recalled. Not mine as I guess I have the larger engine. We do not smell it when the windows are up, but in good weather with windows down or top off, is it extremely disconcerting at stop lights. And we cannot park in a garage to be safe,

We began to notice a strong smell of gas in and around the vehicle, which was not normal or present for the first year of ownership. Knowing that this was not 'normal' we scheduled a service appointment with the dealership. Upon inspection, it was found that the gas line was leaking due to rubbing on a component. The resolution was the dealer replacing the line, rerouting, and verifying the repair. It should be noted that: 1. The vehicle is stock & has not been modified 2. Despite the strong smell of gas, there were not any warning messages/check engine lights, performance issues, etc. that would otherwise signal an issue
