The contact was unable to have cruise control switch replaced under NHTSA recall 05V388000. He noted that because of a disability he did not allow the dealer to disconnect the switch. When he spoke with the dealer and manufacturer, neither could provide a date of availability for the switch. He has not experienced a problem to date with the cruise control, but he wanted to have the switch replaced as soon as possible because of the risk of a vehicle fire.
