What the heck was Ford thinking when they decided to experiment on vehicles that customers buy? At least own up and fix the issues. This is my first American vehicle in 30 years, and I will never buy another. My previous was a new 1987 Ford Ranger that had manufacturing defects that caused the engine, electronics and transmission to die. Friends say this is normal for American vehicles. Ticking since 60,000 - Ford says the 5.4L engine is the worst engine they ever made and I should replace it with an aftermarket, needed a valve job at 80,000, $800 to change spark plugs. Why are Toyotas outselling Ford and GM? Because they aren't designed by incompetents and can go 200,000 miles without major repairs, unlike Fords 60,000. It is interesting to note that if Ford stood behind their products I would have considered their trucks in the future.
