You'll need small hands to be able to replace the sensors. It took me about 3 hours just to finish! There really isn't any space back there, so most of the time you'll be trying to move things around to get your hands back there.

My Z stalled again on the freeway while enroute to work. It started after several attempts. Engine service light came on. Replaced Cam Position Sensor.

350Z 3.5L

  • Manual transmission
  • 39,000 miles

at 39,000 miles my car sputtered and died on the very busy fast lane of the Pomona Freeway. Having to dodge several cars and large trucks, I managed to coast onto the shoulder of the road. The car started up after several tries. The service engine light came on and the repair was a crank position sensor replacement. This has manifested itself a total of 5 times since then. The car has the very same symptoms approximately every 2-3 thousand miles, but the service engine light does not come on, therefore no diagnoses or "unable to recreate problem" status from the dealership.
