After making a left turn I heard a loud popping sound from the rear of the vehicle so I continued driving at about 20mph. for about another 350 yds. While making a right turn into my apartment. I heard a loud clanked sound. I looked and saw that the upper control arm on the rear drivers side had broke apart due to rust. Luckily I was only pulling into my apartment. I was quite disturbed by this incident because I had just gotten off the interstate with my family in the vehicle with me..

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10E019000 (Suspension) and 10V517000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repairs; however, the dealer only completed the recall repair for 10V517000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that the collar weld of the vehicle was separating. The contact also stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer - Jim Bone Nissan (1275 Santa Rosa Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404) who advised the contact that she would be responsible for the cost of the repair because the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 205,000.

Vehicle originally sold in Rhode Island, underneath is corroded and welding that is holding spring and or shock seems weak and steering wheel turns by itself when hit a groove or coming to stop on city street. Being in contact with other Armada owners, there seems to be common trouble with catalyct converters with clogged screens and cracked exhaust manifolds, and multiple misfire with approx 8 of 10 Armada owners

After purchasing a 2004 Nissan Armada. The vdc off light, slip light and brakes pop up on the dash. The car begins to make a springy sound maybe from the brakes. The car has to slow down and it stops for a minute but it continuously does it while I'm driving. It happens with no discrimination as to where you are (city, highway, etc...).

Left front wheel, tire, disk brake assembly, plus caliper and brake disk detached from vehicle while truck was traveling approx 60 mph on rte 8 in conn. Truck spun into the median guard rail and I had to struggle to get it stopped. Inspection of the left front wheel well revealed that the tie road to that wheel assembly had completely severed itself--as if you were slicing into a cake with a knife.. we could have easily been both killed. I want you to research whether there were any recalls for this 2004 Armada of which I was never notified. Please respond to [xxx] thank you. Armada

  • 74,000 miles
We have a 2004 Nissan pathfinder Armada with under 74,000 miles on the odometer. The vehicle looks like it is in very good shape until it is put on a lift. The major control arms of the vehicle are severely rusted while other steel in close proximity is not. We found a recall for 1996-2004 Nissan pathfinders for this same issue: 'campaign id #: R1107 'NHTSA #:11V-244 'applied vehicles:1996-2004 pathfinder (R50) Nissan North american told us that this recall does not apply to our vehicle. We believe that the components used on our vehicle were probably produced by the same manufacturer as the recalled components and therefore have the same issues. The Nissan representative that we spoke with would neither confirm nor deny this. ( mariana 615-725-5879) she could only confirm that the recall did not apply to our Nissan.

I have had an issue with brakes and lights coming on that says vdo, antilock etc: When driving the SUV at lower speeds and you try to apply the brakes the whole front end starts shaking and grinding and it is impossible to stop. I have replaced brakes, rotors, wheel hub bearings and still have this problem. It is scary when you can't stop a 7,000lb vehicle! I am in fear of an accident. I have read of others having the same problem. Sometimes when running hyw speeds a lot of lights come on and dingers and this has been happening since I bought the Armada. I want to know what Nissan is gonna do about this problem cause it seems I am not the only one having these issues. I have already had to replace the right rear hub assembly 2 times and they are not cheap. I feel Nissan does not want admit they have a problem. I think this needs to be a recall. Since I have had this vehicle I have not received anything from Nissan to address these issues. I pray they will recognize and see to it that these things are fixed and help us the consumer feel safe driving down the highway. I have 3 young children who ride in this Armada. Please help !!

2004 Armada difficult to control over bumps. Right rear tire continuously bounces causing vehicle to wander when going over bumps. Steering wheel continuously vibrates especially on the highway. For the past few years vehicle has been inspected and test driven by many mechanics including Nissan dealerships to no avail can they locate the problem. All 4 tires have been replaced twice. Air bags performed active tests to rear air shocks and were working fine. Bags were checked for leaks and none were found. Alignment is fine. Also, vehicle has excessive rust underneath (we have never towed any boats or anything remotely close to the weight limit of the vehicle.)

2004 Nissan pathfinder Armada with numerous problems. Customer states the vehicle has had some of these problems washer tank/motor/level sensor, electrical worked after key was removed from the ignition, and it had brake failure. The tires were wearing unevenly. There was a water leak coming from the passenger front floor board. The dealer installed a hose to the ac drain. The front rotors were replaced due to them being warped and the rear rotors were resurfaced. The passenger window would not roll up, due to it being off track. While driving, the engine suddenly shut down. The consumer removed the key from the ignition, but the wipers, horn, headlights and other electrical instruments kept on working. The consumer also experienced a flat tire and there was moisture in the transmission connector, the wiring harness was repalced.
