SES went on coming home from errands on 8/1/2013. Next morning, truck wouldn't turn over. Not sure what the deal was; checked battery and all that; was at a loss. Waited an hour, tried again and it started right up but SES remained on. Went to store up the road. Began hearing gurgling after truck was turned off. Took in for inspection same day at a local shop (nearest dealership was 20+ miles); diagnostic came up P0463; needless to say they wouldn't pass the truck. Had to bite the sword on this and had them "repair" it. They stuck in a new vapor canister vent and $230 later, all was right in the world...at least for another 6000 miles. At 73000 the SES popped back up. Thought it was a new issue so went to nearest auto store to have diagnostic done. P0463 again! Not happy to hear that. I informed them this happened nearly a year earlier, same code. They did look up the cost of a new valve, about $68, but I didn't have the cash to get it. After doing a bit more research I discovered this is a pretty widespread problem; even came across a service bulletin for the exact problem. No recall though; absolute lunacy on Nissan's behalf. I've seen a few DIY fixes for this but have been leery of trying it. Trying to find out where to purchase the filter kit that the bulletin mentions. Not going to a dealership that's for sure!
