Approximately 4-5 years after driving this truck off of the lot, i noticed the paint starting to bubble on one of the fenders. I called them and no surprise to anyone I was told that I was out of luck they didn't offer to take a look at it and give me a cost estimate to repair or anything. End of conversation. Over time, the paint gradually continued to peel and bubble on the same fender, and recently has spread to the opposite fender as well as parts of the cab now. After a consultation with a body shop, he called my truck "a peeler" and said it is only going to get worse. He said he wouldn't spot repair it, the right way to do it was to strip the whole truck and repaint. He said it would cost me around $6500.

Now I'm in a position where my truck on trade in would probably only get me about $10,000 if the paint was decent, and knowing these dealerships they will try to deduct the cost of a paint job out of that.

I don't feel like asking for paint to stick to the sheet metal for a good 10-15 years is too much to ask, but they only offer a 3 year paint warranty. Now I know why.

My dad was washing his BRAND NEW truck and found the paint in the roof "gutters" bubbling. There's 5-7 bubbles on both sides....They are not hard like there's a paint buildup. They are soft and 2 of them now have slits in them. When I called Nissan the customer service rep referred to this as a "melting" as opposed to a hard flaking ( which is happening to my truck ). So they have heard of this before. He took it back to the selling dealer and they said they couldn't do anything about it. They told him to call 1-800-Nissan1

The regional specialist called and told my dad there was nothing they could do and to continue driving it. Are you serious ? Nissan knows they have paint issues and this is a NEW TRUCK !!!!!

These bubbles could easily turn into peeling paint. Plenty of other owners have expressed this problem in this area on these trucks.

C'mon Nissan step up and fix the problems !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
