I have driven a good conservative part of 250,000 km off road and 90% of these km were as a tour operator on the beach and in the dunes of the Namib Desert!
I did this Initially 23 years ago with a Toyota DC 4x4 and later an Isuzu 2.8 DC 4x4 DT. I sold the Toyota to "Upgrade" to a new vehicle. That was an Isuzu DC 4x4.
This Isuzu rusted away under my ass over +/- 10 years so I "Upgraded" again to the Nissan Hardbody and shortly after "Downgraded" to a new Navara 2.5 DC 4x4. This was purchased about December 06, 2011. It seems that this was my biggest mistake ever!
Here is my problem!
This vehicle needed a new Clutch and the dealer recommended a new Flywheel as well. These were replaced under Warranty on 29,804 Km on 16/05/2013 (The Warranty expense claim amounted to N$10,650.55)
My Conclusion!
I believe that there is a problem with the set up as I find it hard to believe that a clutch on this supposedly good vehicle can't last 30,000KM! (Just as a matter of interest and unlike the other vehicles mentioned above, Kindly Note that, The offroad driving of this Navara is not a km more than a very conservative guesstimate of 3,000Km at this time!
