A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I BOUGHT THIS 2010 NISSAN ROGUE 5 MONTHS BACK FROM CARMAX, LEXINGTON, KY. I TRAVEL FREQUENTLY FROM LEXINGTON, KY TO CARY, NC AND NEW YORK, NY EVERY QUARTER. I USED MY SON CAR CAMRY AND RENTAL CARS (CHEVVY, FORD, TOYOTA AND NISSAN ALTIMA), BUT NEVER FACED THIS PROBLEM.

THE PROBLEM IS WHEN ONCE ON HIGHWAY I SET THE VEHICLE IN CRUISE CONTROL FOR 72 MPH, SUDDENLY WHEN THE HIGHWAY ELEVATION STARTS TO GO UP, THE CRUISE CONTROL IS DROPPED AND THE VEHICLE STARTS SPEED STARTS TO SLIDE UP TO 30... IT DROPPED IS 29 MPH, EVEN WHILE YOU ARE PRESSING ACCELERATOR (IN FACT IT IS FLOORED). THEN I STOPPED USING CRUISE CONTROL, BUT FOR EVERY ELEVATION THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, THIS CONTINUES TILL I STOPPED GETTING HIGH ALTITUDES.

AROUND LEXINGTON, KY WHERE EVER I GO I HIT MOUNTAINS, SO I STARTED FACING THIS PROBLEM, WHEN EVER I HIT US 64 E, US 77N OR S AND US 75 N OR S........YESTERDAY MY SELF, MY WIFE AND MY DAUGHTER ARE COMING HOME FROM NEW YORK TO LEXINGTON, THE PROBLEM STARTED ONCE IT HITS MOUNTAINS AND CONTINUES TILL WESTCHESTER, KY WHICH IS 20 MILES FROM LEXINGTON, KY.

THE DRIVE OF 12 HOURS, TOOK ABSOLUTELY 22 HRS WITH BREAK FOR EVERY 3 HRS ( BREAK OF 20 TO 25 MTS), OTHER THAN BREAKS JUST IMAGINE ON HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE STARTS TO DROP THE SPEED AND WHAT HAPPENS WITH VEHICLES BEHIND YOU, EVEN HIGHLY LOADED TRUCKS CROSSED US AND DROVE COMFORTABLY.......IT IS A SERIOUS DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH NISSAN ROGUE...TO BE RECTIFIED OR FIXING THE PROBLEM.

THE SAME ROUTES I DROVE IN DIFFERENT VEHICLE AS MENTIONED ABOVE EVEN NISSAN ALTIMA AS RENTAL CAR, NO ISSUES, BUT FOR THIS VEHICLE. THEN ONLINE I FOUND THAT MINE IS NOT THE FIRST OR LAST VEHICLE, THERE ARE MORE NISSAN ROGUES LIKE THIS. WE NEED JUSTICE FROM THE NISSAN USA.

Rogue 4.0

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,000 miles

Before this issue, my 2010 Nissan Rogue was a basic reliable car. However, since this past summer everytime I drive more than 40 miles or any trip longer than an hour, the car loses acceleration. It started with this whining noise when you press the gas pedal. I was told it was a belt, so I had it replaced. Then one morning while on I-285, getting off at the Cobb Pkwy exit, it just gave out and I kept pressing the gas as I just knew one of those 18 wheelers was going to plow into the rear of my car. Imagine the horror!

Took the car immediately to Sears nearby, couldn't find anything wrong, took car to Nissan Specialist, said car was fine?? No codes, mechanics have no idea, it's life threatening. Recently drove back home to Hollywood, Fl after clearance from my mechanic and it was the worst trip ever!!! Had to call AAA. Acceleration issue started again, had to keep pulling over after every few hundred miles. RPM felt stuck at high 2-3. Kinda felt like it wasn't shifting gears automatically or maybe not idling. I finally made it to So. Fla after 15 hours!!! Once there car drove fine in city. Experience repeated itself on the way back to Atlanta.:(

Hopefully, I can find resolve before something awful happens. I really wanted to pass car down to teenage kids. Not so sure now.
