Rogue SL 2.5L V4

I only drive Nissans all my life and all equipped with NAV. Since 2006 Morano, then 2010 Altima, then 2015 Altima, then 2017 Rogue, then lastly 2018 Rogue. This my first time a Nav has the problem of the cursor is not pointing exactly at the road. It's a little less and shows behind the road, while I was actually in front of the road. Then the cursor goes back and forth; and right and left while I didn't change my way and when I open any nav app on my iPhone it's way more accurate.

Rogue ES 2.0L I-4

I just leased this vehicle, and the NAV system was very important to me. When I drove out of our subdivision this morning, the map showed that I was driving in my neighbors' back yards. Later, it showed me driving parallel to the freeway. but not on it. Then, it indicated that I was driving South in the Northbound lanes. Finally, it just froze up. I have had this vehicle less than two days, and the NAV System was supposed to have been calibrated. Not so much . . . My old Garmin dash-top unit was MUCH more accurate than this, and for a whole lot less money.

Update from Aug 26, 2018: UPDATE: About 30% of the time, when I start the vehicle, the NAV system initiates to a map of North America, or of the Southwestern States, instead of the local map that I expect to see. The system gets lost and confused in some parts of town, even though the streets are long established, and there is no construction. Twice last week it told me to "TURN LEFT" when driving down a freeway with a concrete divider wall between the Northbound and Southbound lanes. WHAT?? Turn left? How does one do that on a freeway without getting killed? Perhaps now we know why there are so many wrong-way driving fatal accidents on the freeways. It would be interesting to learn how many of the wrecked vehicles were Nissans. It's time the government looked into this because Nissan is apparently not very concerned. This could be dangerous.

Rogue SL AWD

  • Automatic transmission
  • 621 miles

Navigation is constantly showing wrong position information and jumps around the map during the whole journey, never finding the correct position, even when stationary. The position is off by several miles each time. The vehicle was bought from new and the GPS started this almost immediately.

Vehicle taken back to dealership and checked by dealership. GPS was re-calibrated and checked for errors, showing none. Was told to monitor the situation. Over the past month, I've monitored it, and every day, the GPS is wrong. I have made a word document with screenshots of a sample of several wrong positions showing in my usual work journey. The vehicle is now booked back in with the dealership.

Update from May 17, 2019: So, after a software update, the GPS fixed itself and has been working fine for months..............until now! GPS is back to showing me off road and fails to correct. No new software update available....Not happy and makes me question whether I'd buy Nissan again.
