Takata recall 2 occasions vehicle was in motion, once 35+ mph and 40mph. Car literally stopped in the middle of the road with moving traffic. Dealership claimed it was the sensor the first time & switched it. Happened second time today & almost caused multiple fatal wrecks. Both times on busy roads & this time exiting a bridge into on coming traffic and multiple lanes. I'm scared to drive this vehicle. Bought it brand new. Fist couple months had sent video and reported on 3 occasions where the radio screen was also defective and they replaced it. On both occasions this has been traumatizing and just looking at the computer is not enough! I put down $8K and traded in a vehicle to buy my first new car, only for it to become a death trap!
While moving at both highway speeds or speeds between 20 -40 mph, the emergency braking system would engage without warning and without an object in front of the vehicle. This would cause the brakes to engage, the vehicle to shudder until I could re-take control, and an error alert on the dash board. The dealer's recommendation was to turn off the radar assisted emergency braking every time I got into the vehicle, as it was a "flawed technology". after multiple events and trips to the dealer, they replaced the part and updated the software.
Aeb system randomly alerts or engages while driving even with no obstructions. Error says "unavailable front radar due to obstructions" no obstructions are visible on road. Occurs while driving 10-20mph or 50+ on highway. Second complaint, infotainment system randomly restarts/reboots on its own during the day.
On two separate occasions (7/5/2019 & 7/15/2019) the car engaged its automatic emergency braking system (alerted and braked to a stop suddenly) while in motion for no apparent reason. Both events happened in the same location (on a highway under an overpass bridge) with no cars or other obstructions in the path of the vehicle.

Sparatic forward emergency braking light on while driving and no other vehicles around. Also check engine light : stating oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. Car was bought new. It is under warranty and dealership is unable to diagnose and correctly fix.
Forward emergency braking light sporadically coming on while driving. Car has been taken to Nissan dealership and has not been properly diagnosed or properly repaired. Car has also thrown check engine light causing the oxygen sensor to be replaced. Lost trust in reliability, security and dependability of my new vehicle. Nissan does not appear to competent enough to fix my SUV.
While driving on 3 separate occasions the automatic emergency break option that is on was activated on its own bringing my car to a stop without an emergency stop in front of me. On all three occasions I was in motion 2/3 times over 30mph. I was driving on a city street in el paso tx and on a military installation in corpus christi, tx.
Takta recall. My 2018 Nissan roug sport lock up when I try to start it up. When I push down on my brake petle it does not recognize my key pad and my car will not crank. The car was stationary.
The car's automatic emergency braking system brakes suddenly without warning and randomly. It does so without any obstacles or obstructions visible, or when vehicles are in the vecinity while driving. This proposed safety feature in actuallity has made these experiences feel it as unsafe. I have had this problem for a year and a half. To remedy the situation I have turned off the automatic braking feature off, since it does not work. And on the contrary it actually makes the SUV feel more unsafe.
The automatic braking system engaged for no reason while traveling forward at 30mph. This happened on a city street with a slight decline and no cars around the vehicle. There was a sharp deceleration accompanied by a grinding sound. This lasted a brief second or two, then the vehicle resumed forward motion. The vehicle did not come to a complete stop. This is the second time this has happened with this vehicle. The last time it happened (the first week we had the vehicle) the dealer replaced the distance sensor. Obviously there is still a problem.
I was driving down the street one day no one around me, no object, was not on auto control, and my car automatically brakes on its own while driving. Had it done that while it was a busy road it would of caused an accident.
The car brakes unexpectedly and skid. This has happened twice and there were no vehicles in front of me. There was no reason for the car to brake and stop on its own. This happened as I was exiting the highway and was make a turn on a city street.
The contact called on behalf of his daughter that leased a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to engage. The vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact sustained some minor bruises which did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the storage facility of the tow truck company. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither a dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000. The vehicle was destroyed. The VIN was not available.
The back up camera freezes up when backing. Bought it new May 5, 2018. Nissan Corp told me the have no fix for it. That it was not a safety issue. Was backing up, car was 2 weeks old and hit a tree. Had to pay to fix the bumper. I then took it to Nissan. They had it for 2 week could not fix the back up camera
While driving; a bug or some small object?? hitting the anti collision sensor will activate the brakes without warning usually when driving over 30 mph this has happened at least a dozen times at no set pattern
2018 Nissan Rogue - out of the blue, dashboard light flashes "warning malfunction" and the emergency brake light icon comes on. The vehicle also by itself started braking making it hard to drive. There were no cars in front of me. I turned the car off, waited a few minutes and turned the car back on and the warning light was gone. This happened again a few days later while I was driving, again, no cars or anything blocking my way - car is braking on its own. Taking car to dealer for service to be looked at - saw similar issues having been posted on the web.
Aeb (automatic emergency braking) disables itself automatically. The system turned itself off when I was driving at 40mph. The system thinks there is an obstruction when their is nothing in front of you. This defeats the purpose of the system to stop you in an emergency. Make Nissan change the radar. This is a safety issue.
