The "cruise control" does not work properly. At the speed setting of 45 mph if you roll down the hill it "happily" accelerates past the set cruise speed until you run out of the hill. I recorded the speed by an independent sensor (i-phone app) and with car cruise control set at 45 mph rolling down the long hill it reached the speed of 49+ mph and I do not know if it would have shifted down in gear or not because the hill ended. I tested the car at other speeds on the same hill. At other speeds (40. 50. 70) it stayed within +/- 1 mph from the setting. When I tested the car on the same hill it continued increasing the speed to 54 mph at cruise control setting of 45 mph.
When I took the car to the dealer describing the problem they "drove it at different speeds" and decided that the car "works as designed". This test was performed by the maintenance manager Trevor. I absolutely agree with the statement that the car works as designed, and it is designed as a piece of junk. Obviously the software on this car is not stable and it works when it decides to. What is the point of setting the "cruise control" to a certain speed if it doesn’t control that speed??? Just call it then "cruise out of control".
